It’s been a year since my surgery and I still could not be any happier!! I went from chubby cheeks to Chrissy Teigen real quick.
So to start off, I had been really hesitant about doing anything to my body, but Dr. Kwon put my mind at ease. He was extremely knowledgeable about the procedure and was very patient with me while he answered every single question I had brought up (I had A LOT of questions lol). I wanted to have a more chiseled face and asked him recommendations to help me achieve that look. He recommended that along with the buccal fat removal, I also pair it with chin & neck lipo and jaw masseter Botox. He showed me examples of the procedures on some of his previous clients and I was very pleased with the results so I signed up for the procedures right then.
The day of the surgery, all of the staff was very friendly and reassured me that everything would be okay. They really made me feel as comfortable as I could possibly be before I was put under. Then, Dr. Kwon came in to go over the procedure one last time & just his energy made me feel at ease about everything. We went into the operating room, the anesthesiologist put me under & Dr. Kwon started working his magic. It took me a while to go to sleep, so Dr. Kwon & I were just chatting while he did my chin lipo. It was absolutely painless - almost like I was getting a massage.
When I woke up from surgery, the staff told me everything went beautifully and I was ready to go home. They put a compression wrap around my head for the neck & chin lipo that I would have to wear for 2 weeks after the surgery. I went home & felt completely normal except that I couldn’t open my mouth all the way due to the buccal fat removal.
The next week at my post op appointment, Dr. Kwon said everything looked great and gave me botox for my jaw masseters to slim down my jawline.
A few days after, I realized that my cheek had hardened on the left side & I could barely open my mouth. So I called Lilit and she said it’s rare for that to happen so she put Dr. Kwon on the phone immediately. He prescribed me pills to relax my muscle as he worried that they were being tightened and said hopefully after a few days I would be able to open my mouth. Well a few days went by & I didn’t feel a difference. I told Dr. Kwon it might be due to the scarring in my cheeks because I was prone to getting hypertrophic scars which build up a lot of tissue while healing. So he told me to come to his office and he would do a special light treatment for me & give me steroid shots (free of charge) to help with this issue. Immediately after the the treatment, I felt relief in my cheek/jaw and the hardness had gone away.
It took about a month to heal due to the complications after surgery, but I am so happy with the results and the treatment I received from Dr. Kwon and his team! I felt like the genuinely cared about me and went above and beyond to make sure that I was taken care of and that I was completely satisfied with my results. I could go on & on about how pleased I am about this entire plastic surgery process from start to finish.
Also, his assistant, Lilit, was such a huge help throughout the whole process from booking my first consultation with Dr. Kwon to going through every detail to prepare me for surgery to helping me with the post op complications.

My whole life my weight has always fluctuated, but no matter what, my face was always chubby so I decided to do research on facial slimming procedures and realized that buccal fat removal was the best option for me. I did research for months on different surgeons and came across Dr. Kwon's page. I was extremely impressed by his work & even more impressed by his reviews since the last surgeon I worked with was an asshole to say the least.. so I highly valued finding a surgeon that I trusted would treat me and my body with care. And sure enough.. Dr. Kwon and his whole team exceeded my expectations!
