Thank you although right now I’m a little stressed because I can’t find a doctor that will take my stitches out. I had to return to Georgia for personal reasons and well it’s hard to find anyone that will see me postop for stitch removal here. I know it would be hard because usually they won’t do it unless they were the ones that did surgery.

Buccal Fat Removal
I’ve always kinda had chubby cheeks. I’ve looked that this procedure on and off for a couple years but never pulled the trigger. Well I finally did. From reaching out the surgeon to getting it actually done it was only a 3 week time span. I knew I just needed to go for it or I would chicken out.
Why I went to Mexico:
Here’s my logic. I’m not going under anesthesia, this isn’t a super in depth procedure and the cost difference is staggering. $500 for Mexico vs $3000 in the US. I researched the surgeon, their license, and what people said about the clinic, and decided to go for it. I brought my mom with me for my sanity! Lol
So I drove to San Diego from Las Vegas. Booked a room there for the night before my surgery and planned on crossing the boarder the morning of surgery. I planned on Navigating to the office. Getting it done and leaving.
Lol things didn’t go exactly as planned though. The hotel was ok (Sheraton San Diego). Getting into Mexico was fast! But here’s where the trouble started.. My phone doesn’t work in Mexico and I thought it would (I have Verizon). LUCKILY I took screen shots of how to navigate to the clinic before I got into Mexico. Otherwise I would have been screwed! I got really frustrated because I had added the Mexico feature but my phone just cut off all together and that made my anxiety go through the roof.
I love Tijuana. The culture is amazing and it’s basically like the US. The office was very clean. I was nervous AF. The doctor didn’t have the best bedside manner but that could be just how language transfers differently. He was quick and easy but it did hurt. Not a lot but don’t go into this thinking it’s going to be painless. I have a big pain tolerance and it hurt. The pain is short lived though.
If you travel into Mexico bring a smoothie or go get one right after. Because when we went to leave the wait at the boarder was 3.5 hours! The anesthetic wore off and pain kicked in. I was instructed to not take the pain pills on an empty stomach so I just had to sit there and be in pain for hours until I got to San Diego and got a smoothie.
Doctor:
Very attentive and polite staff. He is nice but very straight to the point. Clinic was clean. Aftercare instructions are very simple and helpful.
Healing:
I started taking the arnica pills days before the surgery and I think that definitely helped. Be prepared to be very swollen and bruised. My bruising only lasted like 4 days but still. Arnica and ice packs are your best friends.
Would I do it again?
Yes. My face is slimmer and I don’t have to contour anymore. I love how it looks and you can’t beat the price! Overall I’m very happy. I’ll post an update 1 month out.

Hey everyone I went to Omar Lazos, you have to have your passport to get back to the US but not to go to Mexico and I would say the pain was a strong 6 but it only lasted 15 minutes
