Lower Lid Blepharoplasty - Bryn Mawr, PA

After considering/researching lower lid surgery for many years, I finally decided to have it done this year. I consulted with five of the top-rated oculoplastic surgeons in the greater Philadelphia area and am so glad that I decided to have Dr. Lee perform my surgery -- about four months ago. Due to my age (over 60) and the extent of my under eye bags, I knew that I would need skin tightening. My biggest concern was scarring as I have skin that scars very easily. I have friends who have had cosmetic surgery and look amazing in a couple of weeks. But with my skin type and scarring history, I figured that this would probably not be the case for me. In talking with Dr. Lee, I learned about his lower lid surgery technique – he uses a minimal incision approach – and I liked that approach. I also liked the fact I could elect to have the surgery done with local anesthesia. And it was very important to me that I have a surgeon who was a board-certified ophthalmologist with an extensive background in oculoplastic surgery.
I am very, very happy with my result – no more under-eye bags! My healing may have taken longer than for most because of my skin type. However I was able to conceal my scars with makeup about two weeks after my surgery. About three months after my surgery, my scars are not even detectable!!'

I only wish that I had found Dr. Lee when I was much younger. If I had done the surgery then, the skin tightening may not have been necessary. Lower lid surgery was just not on my radar screen back then.
I strongly believe that it is important to be realistic in your expectations and to comply with post-surgery instructions. Based on my skin type, I knew that mine would not be an overnight result. And Dr. Lee says from the beginning that the best results are four to six months out from surgery. I have healed beautifully, and the average person would have healed even more quickly.
Dr. Lee and his entire staff are professional, personable, friendly, and caring. Most importantly, they are all very responsive!! I particularly want to thank Christine who has always gone out of her way to provide knowledgeable feedback to my questions and concerns. She is always so responsive and amazingly supportive and informative!!
I would highly recommend Dr. Lee to anyone who is contemplating eye surgery. He is an excellent surgeon!!
