I can finally sleep on my side at night. I was able to cuddle up next to my husband last Friday night. I almost feel normal now. I am still wearing the binder around my belly. It keep my pants from pressing against my lypo bruses. The hard bumpy places are still sensative and I still have some brusing especially below my pubic bone.
My breast scars are still very tender, and probably will be for a long time. Bras are still a problem. If the band rolls or pulls or pinches.... Wow. I am finally able to reach above my head at a stretch. I am still careful with lifting more than 10 pounds. In one more week I will be as healed as my body is going to get.

Malcolm Rude, MD

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Surgery is scheduled for September 23, 2015. I wrote about him in the body of my review. But it bears repeating. He was personable, educated and I liked him. He was gentle in his approach either in speaking or physical examination. He warned before touching. Which I greatly appreciated. He is cautious and was not afraid of questions. He expanded on answers I expected short answers to. I hope that he is as good a surgeon as he is a doctor.

I have read your story and I had the same consult as you did, but did not chat about the belly, I have to get called for my pre opt and photos with the doctor and then to do my blood tests then I will have my surgery date. I really want a B cup or max a small C, smaller arealos, been wanting for this since the age 15, I finally got the courage this year.
Is this the only dr you consulted with? What size are you starting out with? I was really afraid of the FreeNippleGraft but mine has done really well. Are you going to have to have that?
Yes he is the only one, but he was referred by my breast cancer doctor who he works with when there is a breast cancer and reconstruction to be done together. I had a close scare but it was non cancerous, but will follow up yearly with my breast cancer specialist. I really liked him and is head of plastic surgery and I read great reviews. I am 42dd or 44 ddd depending on my bras. He suggested it but will try not to do I but if necessary he will have to do it. Am afraid to be honest, he mentioned no drains or tubes, internal stitches lift /reduction and liposuction on flanks. I said what is best to get a perky, youthful and small as possible. He said not to small according to my body size, but I said a B or C.
He smiled when I wanted to go small. I have very dense and long to the waist breast and he is reducing the arealos as well. I consulted one 20 years ago and I chickened out but now I am tired to carry all this weight on my chest, losing weight did not make my breasts smaller.
You have to specifically ask about drainage tubes. I had them and they are not bad and come out in a week. I was not prepared for how wide my breast base was. I am still really wide even with lypo on the sides. I am hoping there is still a lot of swelling under the arm. I am finally beginning to get a little drop and don't feel as if my breast are in my throat. I am pretty sure he reduced more than my arealoas because I have stitches really close to the nipples. I guess when you reduce one you need to reduce the other, at least in some instances. I love the results of the lypo, even though I will have some sagging skin when I take the binder off. But I am ok with that.
When do you have surgery?
I should been called by now and am waiting for the call. Here the govt pays for the surgery, so the waiting time is long, unless I get it done in a private clinic and pay for it.
Still waiting for the call and nothing yet.. and I called last week and asked where I was on the list and the secretary said I have to check cause they could not find my name or file anywhere. I consulted in April and the doctor said when I wanted it done and I said the fall and said ok. I told the hospital and she responded two year wait, wow. I was not happy unless it is done in a outpatient private clinic I need to pay, I can get done next week. I waited all this time what's another 2 years if govt pays for it. Is the binder a must after the liposuction and where did you get it? Amazon? The hospital will call me back to confirm my date when I mentioned I came referred from onocology.
I am sorry to hear of the scheduling problem. The dr said for me to wear the binder for the first month, 25 hours a day. Which I did. Then I took it off at night because my skin hurt so bad. After 6 weeks I took it off completely. Mostly I wore it because the dr took so much fat, I was going to have sagging skin if I did not wear the binder. I might end up with sagging skin any how because I am 59. But I was making my best effort to try and get the skin to adhere . I woke up with the binder on.

10 day out.

Most of the time I don't have any discomfort. I cannot say I have had much pain at all. Most of my discomfort is associated with swelling at the end of the day. I still have muscle spasms in my chest, so I haven't started back crocheting yet. I really miss my hand crafts.
I am having itching spots in my abdominal area. But I don't scratch, I press the area just a bit. Except for my stitches which I try to ignore.
Over all, I am very pleased.
My breast are very boxie but I expect them to " drop and fluff" at some point. I was not aware that my nipples and surrounding area would not have any texture after the FNG. I am not crazy about the fact that they look like they are "colored" on with crayons. But.... The trade off is that I got my small C cup.
My Lypo is great also. The swelling is annoying but manageable. The compression garment is annoying but manageable. When I take it off to shower I know it is worth being annoyed.
I am 100% happy I did the breast reduction and the abdominal Lypo !

Drainage tubes out!

I had my drainage tubes removed yesterday. I took a pain pill because I thought I would need it. It was two smips and a small pull on each side. I forgot to ask if I was supposed to put a cream or antibiotic on my free nipple grafts. I called today but got less than a satisfactory answer from the staff. I have a follow up apt on Wed so I will ask then. I loved getting the tubes out, on the other hand I have had a heck of a time finding a bra that fits. Because of the stitches? I am happy with the size, just a little nervous about the free nipple graft.

We're about the same age and had surgery a week apart...isn't this fun! Love following your story...everything is so different. I had no drainage tubes, no nipple grafts, was told to take off compression garment at 2 weeks...I swell a lot mid-afternoon but it is manageable...breasts giving me more problem than abdomen...but I still can't sleep in a bed, 5 weeks post surgery. I try every couple of days but there is something on my right side that feels like pins are stuck in me...likely inside stitches and I give up after a while. My husband is now taking over our king-sized bed (while I sleep in a reclining bed next to him) and I wonder if I will ever be able to reclaim my space there!. Keep the updates coming...
Aren't you glad the surgery is over? At least every day gets better!
