Brow Lift & Upper Bleph to Treat Puffy Eyes
WORTH IT$7,500
In the last two years, I developed brow ptosis that caused my eyes to become very swollen if my forehead muscles didn't compensate by lifting. The brows dropped as a result of age, and the problem was accelerated by an unfortunate 8-month work assignment requiring extreme hours of work.
In my case, the swelling in the eye orbits was mostly medial and would occur when my forehead was relaxed, which happened during sleep or long cycling road trips.
In the mornings, if the swelling was particularly bad, I would hold ice packs firmly against my eyes for awhile and would see some improvement. I also experimented with over the counter drugs such as antihistemines and diuretics; they didn't help as much, and were not a long-term solution anyway.
I went for a consultation with Dr. Ceydeli and he said I was a good candidate for a brow lift, and also recommended an upper bleph which would reduce eyelid laxity and further prevent the puffiness.
I had the surgery on 14 February 2017, so I'm almost 4 weeks post-op.

Looks great! How many incisions did you have in your hairline? Did you lose a lot of hair in the area. Makes a huge difference : )
Thanks very much LexiR. I had a coronal type brow lift, so it was one long incision in my hairline. I didn't lose hair except for a dime-sized area near the top. I have no idea why that one spot had hair fall out. I see some hairs growing back. If they don't all come back in the next couple of months I will have some grafts placed there.
So much improvement! You look so good..and I like the "new hairstyle"!
Thanks for the nice Easter morning message. You made my day!
Wow, you look great, and younger! It's amazing how much more relaxed your forehead looks too! Congrats !
Thanks, and the same to you! I just glanced at your two recent reviews and saw how nicely everything turned out.
Was wondering how the diagnosis of brow ptosis is made. Most fashion models seem to have brows that are low (by many PS standards) and as long as they don't have overhanging fat/skin, of course, the eye looks very nice. So low brows, even tho they are as low as yours, really aren't an obstacle to being in magazines and earning a living for their beauty. Do you know what makes one person's low brows need lifting and another's are a fashion statement? Been wondering this forever and haven't yet figured this out.
As you sort of alluded to, the real issue is the underlying fat and muscle. If it is sagging, along with the skin, that is the problem. The eyebrow hairs themselves can be growing at a slightly lower location on the forehead without necessarily looking unattractive.
Hi grace, I've been wondering about "low" brows too. Have you seen N Kidman lately? Her brows seems very "low" and she looks great !
Take any fashion magazine and see if you don't notice 2 things about nearly every model....the brows are relatively low AND the margin of lid (distance from lash to crease) is even all along the lid from inner corner to outer corner. It is not wide and very open in the middle and narrow at the outer/lateral lid. You can try to create this by lifting the lateral brow but the result only last 5 yrs or so at best. An eye lift, if done by a surgeon who believes this is an ideal look/goal, can also achieve this and last about 15 yrs or longer.
My doctor advised a brow lift may be advised if upper bleph is being due due to removal of skin and such a small gap skin removal in lid and brow, so they suggest this as we age brow descends and may require attention in the future depending on where brow sits on brow bone
I had a brow pexy whilst having a bleph via same incision
Eyes are so wide open and I feel refreshed and younger plus vision is so much better

Congratulations on taking this step. :) How's your recovery going?
Sounds good! You definitely look great. I'm excited to hear how you feel in a few more weeks.
