Professional and Effective Browbone Reduction
I’m a cisgender male who had surgery with Dr. Rolfes to reduce a prominent brow bone - this was a “type 3” forehead reconstruction and orbital contouring, with coronal incision. It was a very positive experience overall. Both in consultations and pre / post surgery appointments, the surgeon was thorough, caring, and informative, and he took time to answer any and all of my questions and to help me prepare for recovery.
Surgery itself was straightforward and without complications and took about three hours. I had follow up appointments with the surgeon and nurses to review progress at one day and one week post-surgery.
The first three days of recovery involved the expected forehead / eyelid swelling and headache, but these effects were no worse than I expected and have progressively improved in the following days and weeks. I stayed with a family member in a rented home instead of a hotel, and this probably helped us avoid going too stir-crazy in the recovery period. By the fifth day of recovery, I looked and felt well enough to go sightseeing in Minneapolis.
I’m currently three weeks post-surgery and happy with the results so far. Swelling has come down quite a bit, and I have the smaller browbone and more refined profile that I was seeking, without a problematic effect on my hairline (I wasn’t seeking hairline lowering, but I am glad it hasn’t moved notably backward). There’s slight numbness in my forehead and scalp, and the scar is well hidden in my hair.
