For as long as I can remember I've wanted a Breast...

Villaruel

For as long as I can remember I've wanted a Breast Reduction. I knew my breasts were large for my age when all everyone used to do was hold out their shirts seemingly making fun of me. I was already spilling into a D cup by age 13. I finally made the decision to get the BR after noticing rashes from sweating between my breasts, terrible back pains, bruising from too small bras, and overall depression from not feeling comfortable about my breasts.

I have met with a doctor who I really like and am comfortable with. Dr. Teresa Benacquista. I am waiting and praying for my insurance approval and if all goes well my surgery date is set for March 4, 2015. I'm hoping I get approved because I know this will definitely be a life changing experience.

Anxious

Still waiting to hear back from my insurance and all I have been doing for the past couple of weeks is readings everyone's stories. From those who think it was worth it to those who absolutely hate their reductions. I not ashamed of the thought of having this surgery because although I know it'll give me a confidence boost, the physical pain is just becoming too much. I am literally slouching now because they are so heavy standing up straight just feels uncomfortable and I always feel as though I'm going to get some sort of spasm. The worst is having people discourage you based on the one bad instance they've heard about compared to the many thousand successful cases. I know this surgery will be life changing I'll feel like a 20 year old and be able to enjoy the outdoors without having to tug these huge painful boobs everywhere. Hopefully this week I'll get my approval and prepare myself for the surgery!

WOWWW!! i hope your insurance approves it and the doctor meets your needs. LAWD knows i know about the heaviness...especially in water...please keep the faith and make new plans on how much you want to loose..the stories on this site are so helpful and gives you an idea of what to ask for. the photos people are even better as a visual aid. Yes the unhappy reductions are also HELPFUL. Some people wish for more and a few say their doctor took to much.. All i can say is be clear about your existing body width or size. Discuss with your doctor and ask for a visual in terms of office photos....I will scream if your doctor has NO recent photos of work he/she has completed...RUN!!!....if that is the case and your insurance approves you.....follow up with a list of doctors that your insurance knows who has done the work...they have a list......Stay positive and focus and please use the site it is very helpful and continue to share

Thank you so much for this comment this is probably the best advice I have gotten. It's nerve wrecking thinking about what you really want and not having control over the surgeons hands. When I asked to see her pictures the first time they didn't seem recent but my first appointment was in July so hopefully when I go back I can really focus more on that. But thank you again for your comment

You are welcome..i will add a couple of more suggestions. When sitting at the site and sifting and reading BR experience have a pen and paper and write down questions...or Google, what to ask my doctor for breast reduction? but this site has doctors who have share that information. I did and began meeting with doctors for "free consultations" which allowed me to ask my questions, have them examine or look at my breast, back and stomach. I also ask about KELOID scarring, and got to see photos. A doctor who's web page seem to be the best for me and what triggered me to make an appointment for a free consultation turn out to be shocking by asking her..... how many have you done and when was the last BR you performed and which hospital????? OMG!!! she truly said she did several but didnt remember the last one. I was in shock and nearly passed out...So i ask..3 months ago...6 months ago ...when??? She never answered.....But move on to other parts of the presentation which was how i would b cut and why that proceedure was best for me...then when the photos came....All the photos which were dated was from 2011 on BACK. nothing recent and i ask and was politely told dont worry these are ok ....The best is this, when i left, i get a phone call from the doctors staff telling me my insurance will not pay the hospital they use. So she declined me.lol,lol,lol,lol....Again, even if your insurance approves YOU be sure to interview the doctor to determine if that is the doctor for you. Be careful and listen closely during the interview because some doctors describes "butchering" in their presentation...Like not working to preserve your nipple. So it is important to learn about the surgery. Many women on the site describe their height and weight and age and breast size...Also they have photos. Again this is helpful because it gives you a visual and something to work with..However you must do your homework and ASK QUESTIONS..So i will suggest, while you are waiting for you insurance company, look around for other doctors, develop a list of questions., look at photos, compare to your body frame ,,,your height,,weight and width...hope this was helpful and not too long
