I went back to my med spa last week for an open house they were having with all the reps there. I spoke with the BBL rep and they had never heard of my reaction. My esthetician and I knew it was a reaction to the BBL since she has worked on my skin over the last year and does regular hydro facials on me and knows I have not changed my products or routine. After talking more with the ZO rep (esthetician), it was suggested that maybe my face wasn’t prepped enough prior to having the BBL and BBL was causing the reaction or overwhelming oil production, rash and congestion? It was a guess, as none of us really know why my skin reacted that way twice now. Going with that theory, they suggested I do a couple aggressive chemical peels, followed by good exfoliating products. I spoke with my regular esthetician afterwards and she suggested I just start with a really good “at home” peel by ZO Skin Health (radical night repair) 1 or 2 nights a week and use Alpha Ret night cream nightly and exfoliation accelerator by ZO for mornings.
Wow, wow, wow has this made all the difference, my skin feels amazing and all the bumps and rough texture is pretty much gone, I’m shocked! These products above not only restored my skin but it feels better than before. There was some unflattering peeling and redness but I’ll take that over tiny pimple looking bumps all over my face. Last time this happened to me it did not go away for months, however I did not know it was related to a BBL reaction the first time. This was really a guess as nobody I’ve talked to seems to have seen my problem?? I’m glad that I waited a year in between BBL session to know it was in fact that procedure that caused the bumps each time.
Best guess is: Make sure your skin is well prepped and exfoliated to the max months prior to doing a BBL treatment, I’m guessing the results will turn out better. However for me, I will not be taking the chance again with it. My opinion is neutral on this procedure as I’ve had friends with awesome results. My skin just didn’t cooperate with it. This photo is from today, after using the ZO products for 6 days. To say the least I’m happy now, I have my smooth skin back! The picture in last post was only 10 days ago with all the bumps. Very interesting, mystery nobody seems to be able to answer. Not sure what was going on.

Spoke with the clinic today
JT78November 6, 2019
I spoke with the med spa that did my treatment today and we are thinking I am definitely having a reaction to the laser (BBL) they think it’s kinda of similar to those who have heat rash reactions to the sun. I am not blaming the clinic, I am sure this works for some people, everyone’s skin is different. I just really hope it goes away soon. It’s been a little over a week now, and it’s still the same. Bumpy rough uneven skin, that the best make-up in the world can’t cover up , and it’s Itchy and sensitive.

The bumpiness and itchiness went away after a few days. So much peppering so I think my results will be great!!

My chest is still sensitive after a year. It will randomly break out in a severe itchy rash and I have to take Benadryl to get it to go away. My face never had that reaction.

This is a KNOWN side effect called Orange Peel Texture. It makes me so mad that they are acting as though they have no clue why your skin is reacting this way.

Oh I am here to tell you that is most certainly is a horrible side affect! It happened to me too!!! Devastating and so wrong!!!

I had this happen too. My face was fine but my decolletage and neck broke out in a really itchy rash and even after a year if I use any type of cream there now it gets a huge, extremely itchy rash where I had the treatment on my chest. Face never was a problem.
