Day 4 - Post Treatment

I feel like my face went back to normal yesterday, so if only took me 2-3 days to recovery, which is great. There is some light green bruise marks and some pinprick needle scarring in a couple of places, otherwise I'm 100% - no tenderness, headaches, fatigue etc.

I am breaking out a little bit and have been using benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid as per usual (I have a tendency to break out anyway so no big deal)

Obviously I can't see any difference to my face now (except my brows are starting to lift a bit from the Botox??), however with more treatments I know I will start to see results.

I have booked in for my next appointment on 21 Dec, 16. This time it will be PRP + dermal pen all over face with just the PRP injections around the eyes and I would like to add a small amount of filler to my top lip and cheeks to start restoring mid-face. The only downside is that I've had to book this appointment on the morning of the day I'm operating a flight (I don't live in Brisbane and rely on my work roster to take me there!) so I will have to wear makeup that afternoon... which will be interesting!

Day 2

When I woke up my face was still looking swollen, especially in my eye area (didn't get a chance to take a photo sorry). I could feel pressure under my eyes, especially when smiling.

I had to wear makeup today for work but it went on fine & my colleague said that I looked normal and she thought I would have looked much worse. The good thing about the swelling is that my face looks volumised & full!

On close inspection there are alot of tiny pinprick holes from injections that look & feel like tiny pimples but they are easily covered with makeup.

The nurse advised me not to use anything too active on my skin for the next couple of days. I didn't follow her advice and continued with my normal skincare routine (AM: Benzoyl peroxide, Vit C serum & evening primrose oil, PM: Salicylic Acid, Vit B serum & EPO) because I don't think my skin is that bad topically, it's more underneath the skin that's sore.

I did have a headache at work today and i feel a bit drained. My face does hurt to touch in some areas & I have to be gentle washing it and when applying cosmetics. 24 hours later and my bruising isn't too bad, mostly under my eyes. The swelling under my eyes has significantly lessened from this morning.

I have been wanting to do this procedure for a loooong time before finally locking it at Cosmetic Images Clinic in Brisbane, Australia. I have noticed volume loss and the worsening of dark under eye circles over the last couple of years, especially with my job as a flight attendant! I wanted to start with some conservative procedures to rebuild volume loss, address dark under eye circles and rejuvenate my tired, dull skin before resorting to dermal fillers.

All of the staff at Cosmetic Images Clinic are lovely and Dr Ingrid Tall made me feel relaxed and very much at ease. She has a great sense of humour, answered all my questions and was informative and reassuring. Waiting for the numbing cream to take effect, drawing of blood and harvesting the PRP took about an hour altogether. I then had two people at a time (a combination of Dr Tall, nurse Leiha & another assistant) injecting the PRP into my face for a total about 40-45 mins. I definitely feel as though they injected my face with PRP hundreds of times, focusing especially on under the eye and my nasiolabal folds. As the numbing cream started to wear off towards the end it was a bit painful in some areas, and while the procedure wasnt particularly enjoyable, it was bearable. I also had a vibrating instrument that I could hold to my chest to diffuse the pain, which helped a lot. I had a small amount of Botox injecting into my brows to lift them, after the procedure. The Botox felt like nothing compared to what I had just been through so I'm confident I'll be able to handle more Botox and fillers in the future!

I looked swollen and red immediately after the procedure and literally ran back to my hotel to hide. It's been about two hours since I've had the procedure done and my skin has calmed down considerably, although there is still a bit of swelling, especially under the eye area! I'm a little tired and am expecting bruising tomorrow for sure lol

I'm looking forward to my next session in about a month where I plan to have more injections around my eyes and then have dermapen with PRP on the rest of my face, as recommended by Dr Tall.

I'm not expecting major or immediate results from one treatment, but it will be interesting to how I progress as I get more treatments. Will post an update on how I look tomorrow!

Dr Ingrid Tall has a lovely manner and made me feel comfortable and well informed about the procedure. She is a very warm and caring doctor who understood I was feeling a bit nervous and took her time to make me feel at ease, as did the rest of her staff. She is extremely well qualified and has an excellent reputation but also has a kind and caring personality to match!
