I don't even know where to begin, I have wanted this surgery ever since I was quite young because it has made me very uncomfortable not only in my appearance but also physically. As soon as I could dress myself, I refused to let anyone see me naked.
Before my initial consultation there were only 3 people who had seen me naked; my partner of 6 years (first and only partner) and my 2 regular doctors (both female as I was terrified to go to a male doctor).
Not only was I ashamed of the way I looked, I was also very uncomfortable when it came to wearing tight clothing, sitting for long periods of time and intimately.
Finally I worked up the courage to get a consultation. I did plenty of research and it was actually how I found this site! A review popped up in my google search from this website and told all about her experience with a doctor in Brisbane. After reading her review I was sold on having my surgery performed by Dr Konrat. I researched the Brisbane Cosmetic Clinic website and it just made me even more positive that this was the surgeon for me.
I booked my consultation and when I met Dr Georgina Konrat in person, she was just as lovely as I had heard. She made me feel so comfortable and explained everything about the procedure including the risks (which are nothing compared to the benefits) and the recovery process. When she did her visual examination she was very gentle and did her best to only touch me when necessary as she knew how uncomfortable it was for me. She gave me an idea of how I would look afterwards and explained that I would definitely benefit from her procedure over any others as my clitorus hood had excess skin that would be tightened with her dove method.
After walking out of the consultation I was 100% confident that she was the surgeon I wanted to do my procedure.
So I booked my surgery for the next available date which was in 3 weeks time.
The day of my surgery I got to the clinic and all the ladies were so nice and accommodating. The nurse took me into the prep room where I got changed and she put some numbing cream on the area so I wouldn't feel the needles. She then gave me a Xanax to 'take the edge off' as she said haha. She then put a blanket over me to keep me warm and just told me to relax while they prepped the room and would come get me shortly.
I ended up being very relaxing that I started to doze off, (I believe this was the Xanax) at this point the nurse came in and helped walk me to the procedure room where she laid me on the bed and got me comfortable. The last thing I remember was having a conversation with Georgina and the next thing I know, I'm waking up 2 and a half hours later just as she's finishing off the stitches. It was as if I had had a very long deep sleep.
After Dr Konrat had finished the last of the stitches the ladies helped me up and took me to the recovery room where they gave me some vegemite toast and tea. By this point I was starving as I wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything from midnight.
My partner was in the waiting room ready to pick me up and Dr Georgina spoke with him and just explained a bit of the after care to him so he could help me when we got home.
As soon as we got home my partner got me into bed and made up an ice pack for me to help keep the swelling down. Then I just slept for most the afternoon.

6 Days Post Op
Abigal1907April 20, 2016
Sorry ladies, I wrote this and took photos 2 days ago but didn't get around to posting it.
I'm 6 days post op today and feeling great! The swelling has gone down quite a bit and I believe this is due to all the bed rest I have had over the past 6 days, as well as keeping the area constantly iced. I believe I am healing pretty well and so far I am ecstatic by my results.
I have stuck strictly to the post op care. No showering for 48 hours after the op. I'll admit that when I finally did shower I was very sore and tender so didn't clean the area as best I could but on the third day I found I was a little less tender so I sat down in the shower (with a handheld mirror) and used some wet cotton buds to gently clean around my stitches. No soap or anything, just wet cotton buds. I found this cleaned away most the gunk that had built up. It stung a little but I knew it had to be done in order to prevent an infection.
Also, every morning and night I sprayed on some betadine (I was instructed to do this as part of my post op care).
I'm really looking forward to seeing my surgeon next week to have my stitches out! Will keep updating every couple of weeks and I'll try and get some before photos up too.
In the meantime, for your reference, my inner labia used to sit about 1-1.5cm lower than my outer labia. It was very uncomfortable and noticeable in tight clothing.

2 Days Post Op
Abigal1907April 22, 2016
Just found some photos from 2 days post op and thought I would share so you can see the difference in just a few days.
Please excuse the crappy photography here but I only took these so I could get a close look at myself because it's a little hard to see just looking in the mirror haha.
Also please excuse the red dots/bumps, I had my first Brazilian wax the day before the op.
