So far only 4 days in it is going well. I have overcrowding and a crazy cracking of my right jaw joint. I would crack my jaw a few times an hour and have a dull ache on the side of my head all day, someday a bit more pain than dull. Within the first 24 hours of having my aliners in, I have only cracked my jaw a few times a day and any pain or dull pain lasting hours has gone away. This first tray have re-alined my jaw already!! Had to take ibuprofen the first 3 days due to tooth pain but nothing compared to knowing my jaw is in better shape already!! I lost 4 pounds already from not snacking, eating regular full meals. No sores in mouth only dry lips. I have 16 attachments. These attachments give the illusion of my teeth feeling dirty when the liners are off, but I do the ritual of electric brushing, floosing and mouth wash- still feel dirty, but I do trust my doctor and with the great things already happening for my jaw and waist line, I am happy in these first few days.

So far so great. I total trust this practice since it is an orthodontist and came highly recommended from a friend of mine. The actual placing of the 16 attachments in an hour were a bit much personally, but I do not think any other practice would do it better. A lot was done in that first hour, and this was my 3rd time to the office, they did do the informal meeting, then the next appointment was all the x-rays and impressions. The staff are all nice and welcoming and the artwork show-casted all over the office including the ceiling is incrediable and done by the doctors's father. Really outstanding practice that cares.

Hi, great to read your post. It all sounds like it is going well. I am now into my second week (haven't had attachments put on yet) . But was interested to read about your jaw. Mine used to click years ago and I thought I had outgrown it. But I have noticed today that it has started clicking and aching like it used to years ago. I am a bit worried because it feels that it might go numb and jam completely - has anyone else experienced this.

Great to get some feedback. Wasn't sure how this site worked. But my jaw has been clicking and cracking a few times an hour for the past 3-4 years. It has never jammed and sometimes it can be painful, but for the most part the side of my head just aches. I was told it has to do with arthritis in the jaw. Advil helps take the swelling down at times. But ever since I did start invisalign it has gotten better. I hope the same for you will happen, definitely talk to your orthodontist or dentist.

Have to say the first 3-4 days were the worst as far as teeth feeling achy and loose, not wanting to eat and lost 4 pounds. Also my TMJ wasn't cracking as much in those first few days.

Update is that my teeth were feeling stronger and not hurting after those first days and I have gained the weight back. You definitely adjust. The second tray I took some Advil the first 2 days due to the pressure and aches, but soo much better then the 1st tray. My TMJ is still around with this 2nd tray, was almost gone by the end of the 1st tray, but came back a bit with the second. Still not as bad as before the trays, only cracking a few times a day and no aches around the jaw. So far this is going well.
