I decided to go through with the rhinoplasty because I felt very comfortable with my surgeon, Dr. Clevens based in Brevard County. I provided my concerns to him - anesthesia safety, time for recovery, his skills, his experience - and he was able to assuage all of them.

Therein lies my Tip#1 for good results: being comfortable with the doctor. Because appearance and beauty are dictated by how we perceive the face and our principles of good looks, one's mental state is very important to our outward appearance. This is a philosophy I hold close to my heart and a philosophy that certainly does not begin with me. It has been disclosed before by individuals much smarter than me. Overall, one's mental state is huge going in to surgery. You must be comfortable.

Tip #2: Patience. Patience is another element of one's mental state. If we are comfortable with the procedure/surgeon then you can be patient. I was so confident in Dr. Clevens - he is extremely intelligent from his Harvard training, very dedicated in his continuing education, and highly regarded by his peers and industry leaders. My confidence in Dr. Clevens allowed me to be patient. I knew that if I were to wait long enough and abide by his advice on recovery which included limiting alcohol consumption/sun exposure, maintaining a good diet and utilizing best judgment in terms of maxiimizing rest, then I would allow the greatest results to follow. Dr. Clevens is an artist. And art does not just appear beautiful immediately, patience is a key concern. I wanted my nose to be handsome, attractive and appealing for the next 60 years of my life - God-willing - so I was more than able to concentrate on healing and being patience during the process for the 12 months. Trust me, waiting 12 months for a work of a lifetime is certainly worthwhile!

I have always wanted a rhinoplasty. My nose was broken once but damaged numerous other times due to sports injuries as a kid. I have had the financial capability, but not the confidence to go forward with a rhinoplasty. My family and friends finally convinced me to visit Dr. Clevens. I was able to return to work after surgery faster than I expected. Also, my friends and family have taken notice and are very pleased with my new look, as am I. I would recommend Dr. Clevens to anyone who is interested in a rhinoplasty. His expertise level is unmatched and his care and ability to make a patient comfortable will keep me coming back for skin consultations and other facial cosmetic surgeries as needed.
