Do Not Trust This Surgeon — My Results Were a Disaster

I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from ever walking into Brandon Plastic Surgery. What I thought would be a simple chest reduction liposuction turned into one of the most painful, humiliating, and damaging experiences of my life. I trusted this practice with my body, and I’ve been paying the price every day since.
From the start, Dr. Shienbaum lied to me. He told me — confidently, repeatedly — that the results I wanted could be achieved with liposuction and BodyTite alone. I trusted him because he was the surgeon. I assumed he knew what he was talking about. But he didn’t. Or worse, he did and said it anyway. Five board certified plastic surgeons later told me the same thing: the outcome I requested was never achievable with the procedure he sold me. It would have required an incision and tissue removal. In other words, he promised something he could not deliver, took my money, and left me with a disaster.
The moment the bandages came off, I knew something was terribly wrong. The results weren’t subtle. They weren’t “swelling.” They weren’t something that would “settle.” They were immediately and unmistakably deformed — uneven, irregular, and nothing like what I was led to expect. My stomach dropped. I felt sick. I remember staring at myself in the mirror and feeling pure shock and disgust because I knew instantly that this was not fixable with time.
The physical damage didn’t stop there. The procedure caused blisters on my body — something no one warned me about and something no patient should ever experience from a “simple” liposuction. And the pain was far beyond what a procedure like this should cause. I’ve had medically necessary surgeries before, and none of them came close to the level of pain I felt after this cosmetic procedure. It was brutal, and it was completely unnecessary.
Then came the nerve injury. I lost significant sensation in my left nipple immediately after surgery, and it has never returned. I also developed persistent numbness and tingling along my left abdomen — symptoms multiple surgeons told me are consistent with nerve damage. Knowing this started right after the procedure and never improved has been devastating.
The entire experience felt rushed, careless, and assembly line. The lack of precision shows in the deformities I’m now living with. The BodyTite “skin tightening” that was pushed on me provided none of the contouring I was promised. Instead of improvement, I was left with worse contour, worse symmetry, and worse confidence than before I ever considered surgery.
And despite all of this — the lies, the deformities, the nerve injury, the pain — I was later told I would need to pay nearly $2,000 more for a revision. After what I went through, that felt like a slap in the face.
