I am so excited to be finally doing this after years of contemplating it. Although I'm scared I'm also really excited and I really trust my PS, he's been great with me. Wish me luck for next Wednesday, scheduled first thing in the morning, so I'll be out of surgery by 11am. Phew. I'll be in touch when it's finished.

This is it, it's finally happening

I'm in the hospital all gowned up. I hardly slept last night, had to be at the hospital at 6.30am, left home at 4.30am. My blood pressure is so high, I feel sick. I'm so scared. I have to keep in mind what my PS said, it's just another day in the office for them; that's reassuring as it normalises it for me, they do this all the time. See you at the other end.

Day 1 post op - feel great

I got to the hospital yesterday morning and as I said in my earlier post I was pretty terrified but my PS, Dr Michael Richards was amazing and my Anaesthetist Dr Lindsay McBride was so reassuring; both Doctors have amazing bedside manner and such an air of quiet confidence that I felt like I was in good hands. Everything went so well. I was put under before I knew it and woke up in recovery crying, not sure why but that passed quickly and I came to very quickly. I went into surgery at 8am and was told I was in recovery at 10.30 and back to my room at 11.30am. I had a drip till early this morning but I didn't use and haven't used any painkillers apart from panadol that they insist I take every 4 hours. I'm mobile today and I feel great, just feels like I have a tight bra on but not unbearable at all; I'm really glad I haven't needed the stronger painkillers but I would have taken them if I needed. I've been able to see my boobs twice when they've checked them and they look amazing, they don't look bruised at all. I'll take pics when the bandages are off tomorrow. My night was good with sleeping and getting up regularly to pee. I can't believe it's gone so well and that's down to my amazing surgeon; so lucky to have found him. I'll post more as I go but so far so very good and at the end of it all I have smaller breasts. My surgeon told me they took just over 1 kilo; omg, that's amazing, so happy.

Thanks hon, yes very textbook thankfully. I went in with a really positive mind, even though I was scared. I'm seeing my Surgeon for post op appointment this Friday. I'm treading very carefully as they still quite sore and tight but nothing that I've needed to take any painkillers for at all through the process except panadol and I haven't had that for 2 days. Look forward to your updates. It's so worth it. It's actually changed my life. I feel light, there's no pain in my shoulders or ribs and omg my body is in proportion so my clothes fit me again. I don't look like a tent. Xx
