Post op day 16

Moving around much more freely just a little hunched. Still relaxing and keeping things to a minimum. I had a visit with the nurse yesterday and got to see my scars which are healing nicely. Lots of bruising still to heal. I’m still very swollen so haven’t really seen the results of the lipo and TT yet. Very itchy a lot of the time which is driving me crazy. My skin is super dry and flaky all over. Pain is at a minimum, I get tight and draggy around the stomach area after sitting for awhile or closer to the end of the day. Sometimes I look at my breasts and they seem quite full and big still, then other times they seem tiny ... it’s such a strange thing coming to terms with my new body.

The stitches on your breasts looks amazingly well done! Can you use a silicone sheet yet on the stitching? Is it uncomfortable to wear a bra now? Or do you wear specific type after the surgery?

Hi Melissa, my surgeon definitely did an amazing job with the stitches, they are all done internally. I wear a bendon bra with a front opening closure, it has very wide bands at the sides and is very comfortable. I’m wearing this night d day for 6 weeks. I currently only use a stretch adhesive tape as recommended by my nurse, I’m not sure if I’ll use the silicone sheet ...? I don’t think it’s recommended by my surgeon but I’ll update my post in few weeks with pics and my post care.

Thanks so much for your great info. I go or my consultation Tuesday. Did your insurance cover most of the cost? I believe mine will-I hope. :)

Hi Melissa, you are welcome. I’m in Australia- I was able to access my superannuation to pay as I don’t have health insurance.

10 days post op, taking it easy moving from my recliner to the porch and then back again. I’m still quite sore, mainly from the lipo. I’ve been wearing my compression garment and bra 24/7 which is fine, sometimes a bit hot and itchy but mostly not too uncomfortable. My bruising is still dark and the swelling in my abdomen and underarms is still quite sore. I’m walking around a bit but I find I tire easily and still can’t straighten up yet. I stopped the pain meds today, I had a cold and bad headaches the last few days but not much pain from my BR or TT.
I’m getting excited for the day I can play dress ups and buy some new bras!

I wanted to ask about the pain level. How were you feeling on days 2-3-4? I'm considering a breast reduction, and it looks so scary. How are the stitches doing on the breasts? Do they seem to be healing well? Are they uncomfortable? Did you also have a breast lift with the reduction? Thanks in advance.

Hi Melissa, I was in hospital for 3 nights and had a slow release pain medication tablet, panadol and neurofen as well as some anti nausea tablets. I never really experienced much pain, a bit uncomfortable at times but pain was manageable. After I came home I kept taking panadol and neurofen for a few days and at about day 8/9 I stopped taking any pain meds. I’m taking vit c, arnica and curcumin and lots of rest and water. They are healing really well, no issues with stitches, they are done inside and are very neat. I still have a lot of bruising and some manageable pain from the lipo. I’ll put close up pos of day 15 healing on a new comment. Good luck, best decision I’ve ever made !

Thank you for the info! I’m nervous. Did your doctor do a lift with the reduction?

I had the anchor incisions - I believe it has given me a lift as they are sitting up in a great position and my décolletage area is nice and smooth. I think this style BR gives a natural lift ....

Posting whilst I’m post op night 2. Starting to get itchy everywhere and feeling a bit more sore from the lipo, I’m using some ice packs to assist. Im in hospital for 3 nights so I have access to lots of pain relief and great nurses to answer all of my concerns. I have 3 drains in that should get removed on Saturday prior to leaving hospital. Emotionally I’m still feeling fine, excited to see my new body, although my abdomen seems very swollen so I dont think I’ll really see the results from this for a few months. No compression garments on yet.
