Best Plastic Surgeon in Tijuana
How do I begin? I spent months researching, trying to decide where to do a breast reduction surgery. If I did it in the USA, it would have been more than $20k. So I started looking at Tijuana. There seem to be many surgeons, who offer promos to do plastic surgery with them. But is that what I wanted? Not really. I needed a safe procedure, done correctly. Upon my research, Dr Cardenas kept coming up. So I checked her reviews, social media and followed for months before I made any decision.
I finally reached out, someone from her team reached out. Daniela, not my favorite personality but she helped me achieve my goal. I got a long voice message from the doctor, she went into detail about the procedure and safety is her number one priority. She explained that having a bmi closer to 25 is better for optimal results. So instead of a February surgery, I changed it to September and lost 30 pounds. I’m happy I did because I got incredible results.
I flew into San Diego, got picked up by someone from the Dr’s team and driven down to the hospital for some in person paperwork, photos, and they weighed me. I flew in a few days early to do some blood work.
I spent the day in Tijuana, had some delicious food. Then the next day I checked in to the recovery house because the following morning was surgery.
The day of surgery, I was supposed to leave early in the morning, 8am, I didn’t leave til after 10am, there was an emergency surgery the Dr had to perform so my day was pushed out. I got on the table it was 1:50pm, I was definitely grumpy because I hadn’t eaten.
I woke up around 7pm, the surgery went great.
I went from a DDD cup down to a C cup.
She removed a little over 1 pound from each breast. It was almost 1 kilo total.
I stayed overnight at the hospital, which was a fabulous facility. Everything was nice, new and clean. If you’ve ever stayed in a US hospital (I have) this one in Tijuana was much nicer.
The following morning, the Dr came in to check on me, everything looked great. My pain level was none, they do a great job at managing pain levels.
I got picked up and driven to the recovery house, where I stayed for a handful of days. Honestly, the surgery was on a Thursday, I could have flown home on Saturday because I was feeling great. But I stayed until Tuesday per the doctors instructions.
The recovery house was like going away to a spa, they have nurses there to help you shower, dress, etc. They feed you, there’s an outdoor patio where I spent most of my time talking with other patients because I can’t just sit in a room and watch tv. The facility is very nice, it’s clean and new! The staff is wonderful. They really take care of the patients there. I even got a manicure and pedicure while I was there. You can’t get a new pair of boobs and have bad nails. HAHA!
The post op - the recovery was a 2 out of 10 for difficulty. The worst part was not being able to really move your arms much in the beginning. As far as pain, it was non existent pretty much the entire time. I did feel a slight soreness about a month out, but it wasn’t painful. I’m about 4 months post op and it’s been life changing. My shoulders don’t hurt anymore, my back is fine. I can fit into regular clothes without having to go up a size or special order bikinis or bras. It’s been one of the best things I’ve done for myself. Also, working out 5 days a week before the surgery definitely helped the recovery be seamless. You have to put in the work, even if you’re having some work done because trust me, you’d rather put in the work before than suffer after.
If you read this far, Dr Cardenas is a master of what she does. Her priority is safety and great results. So if that’s what you’re after, you’ll be so happy!
