Pleasantly Suprised

I have had noticeably large breasts all my life , I started developing in Elementary school, been sexually harassed at a young age, tormented in middle and high school. When I became an adult and I was able to make my own dressing decisions like wearing low cut dresses or buying those cute bra and panty sets from victorias secret I had already grown out of the bra sizes they offered and I only could get nude, black and white bras that were not flattering (and to be honest not supportive). Needless to say, I have been looking into breast reductions since 2009.. and I have had a consultation before with another surgeon in the past too. I am scared to have the procedure done but I am more excited to possibly live a better life with out my breasts weighing me down (both figuratively and literally). My primary care doctor sent out the referral to my insurance and I was matched up with Dr. Wong. After booking my consult I immediately began my search on anything I could find on him to calm my nerves, and I found this site with only one woman's negative review. To be honest it first made me worried that I would have the same experience. Then I remembered that you have to take things you find on the internet with a grain of salt.. sometimes it takes another set of eyes or a different outlook. I took the long drive down to the consultation with my husband and saw Dr. Wong.. we were pleasantly surprised with how great he was! He was very informative and professional, and he walked us through the how the procedure and incisions would go. He took his time with us and answered any questions we had. We left his office very happy and excited to trust him with such a large procedure.

I had a tummy tuck and a breast reduction at the same time (Sept 2019) It is life changing. I wish I wouldn't have waited until I was in my 40's. So much time wasted. I have no back, neck, and headaches anymore. Clothes fit me like they should. I can work out without the monsters trying to defy gravity. Men do not say disgusting things to me about the size of my breasts. They are normal 34C (from a 34J). I have almost no scars. I have a very faint one at the center of my stomach about a 1/2 inch and about a 1/4 of a inch right at the start of my insision on my left side of my breast. I would do it again in a heart beat.

Wow..I am crazy scared and nervous. As a nurse I know ALL of the not so greats that can happen. I have had to put off my TT, BR/L 3 times now. Keep thinking its a sign..lol. atv48, why bother now. Has Gastric sleeve 7 years ago, have kept my 100# loss off, plus another 35 gone this year. I work hard at it, but my body seems to want to stay at 260- 265.. but, I'm not 410!!!! All that weight loss comes at a saggy, Baggy cost hahhaa. I am 5'9". Breasts were 44 G, now 42DDD w/skin spillage over the bra(under the arms). Not sure how small they will go? In order for insurance to cover, doc has to remove a specific weight from each side. So. I am a little nervous for that. I was going to just stick with the lift too, but if there isn't enough tissue left, then I'll have smaller pancakes, instead of these Watermelon jugs! Ugh. Idk... ugh
But, I am RRREEEAAALLLY nervous about the 360 abdominoplasty/lower bodyift. Getting done together, about 8-9hr surgery... NOT looking forward to that! I need GOOD encouragement....anyone got any..lol.

First of all congratulations on your big weight loss ! That in itself should give you a lot of confidence. Yes there could definitely be undesirable things that could happen post surgery.. but a lot of great things could happen too. You have to weigh out the pros and cons. I personally would like to live the rest of my years More pain free and be able to have the confidence of going shopping at a department store in town and being able to get bras or bathing suits that could actually fit

I just had my breast reduction on Tuesday. It went really well and the pain has been minimal. I would recommend joining the Facebook group "Breast Reduction Surgery." There is so much great information on there and it really helped me get ready for my surgery.

I am glad you brought up the fb group, thank you! Do you mind me asking how many CCs you had removed if you know ?

I’ve done it. It’s really going to happen. September 2nd can’t come soon enough! Initially I had thought I’d want to go down to the size 34c , now I think I might want a 34d But I want to trust my doctor with which ever size is best proportionate to my figure.

Best of luck with the procedure, you are courageous! I have been in contemplation for several years now but have lacked the confidence to go ahead with it. I'm currently sitting at a 34H and hope to go down to about a DD. I am on here in the hope that the bravery of other women will motivate me to do the same, i am keen on following your journey and please (if permissible) share before and after photos as it helps others and myself in potentially selecting a good surgeon. Many thanks, and best of luck!! :) xx

Thank you for the good wishes! I too have been on that same boat for many years, it’s nerve wracking now that there is an actual date but I read that it’s normal and it’s good to communicate with your surgeon about being nervous because they can help! I’ll post pictures soon once I muster up the courage of my before breasts, thank you for the support !

My pleasure! I'm sure you will find lots of support here, I know it's been helping me in getting closer to making a decision. I noticed we are actually very similar in size, an L in US size is a HH in Australian sizing, i'm just one below you at a H! your journey is even more relevant to me now :). The thing i grapple with is... I actually don't hate my breasts, they do in a sense make me feel sexy, but the back pain and lack of being able to shop is a struggle. I'd like to perhaps stick around at about a DD-E or so, i figure that might be a happy medium between fixing the pain whilst still having a bit of volume! Looking forward to hearing more, and please show no hesitation in sharing your thoughts on here if you find it helps with the process of easing the nerves.

Congratulations on setting up your surgery date! I just had mine done 4 days ago and it has gone really well. Minimal pain. And I love my new much smaller boobs! I recommend joining the Facebook group "Breast Reduction Surgery." The group helped me so much to get ready for my surgery.
