Breast reduction w/ lift no implants

So I’m 3 weeks post op today and everything is going well besides my right nipple, Remember when I told y’all it peeled back when the nurse was removing my tapes, well it’s not properly healing all the way and I’m sad about it. It’s so raw. It wasn’t properly healing under the steri strips (the nurse put these on when my nipple peeled back) which I could tell so I started to remove them after being on for almost 2 full weeks. I texted the doctor about it he said antibacterial ointment for a week and let it heal on its own. So that’s what I’m going to do. Hopefully I’ll see a change soon because I was really hoping to be as close to normal as possible at my 4 week mark, Which I 100% would have been if it wasn’t for this right nipple, that I believe wasn’t sewn on properly because of the way it peeled back. Either that or the post op nurse was too rough unsure I just know I’m pissed about it. But atp the remainder of my stitches are all dissolved mostly like at least 90% of them, and all my sutures are closed up or at the very least fully scabbed over. My left nipple is healing beautifully. I’m pleased with everything but my right nipple so I’ll keep you guys updated with the healing process.

ok so I havnt seen any fluid since about day 6 and today randomly I see fluid coming from both boobs more from the left than the right but im trying to be open about my experience so if anyone sees this or runs into this they won't freak out like I did, I sent photos to my mom and asked her why randomly 4 days of no draining that im draining all of a sudden, she said drainage is always better out that in and at 10 days post op this isn't uncommon and its a normal color (yellow) and that she will clean my incisions later and change my non adhesive pads that I've started using because the traditional gauze on that nipple I told you guys had pulled back I've been dealing with a lot from that nipple and the gauze literally pulled some of my nipple skin off guys (as well as have gotten stuck in some of my other sutures as well and pulled on them I forgot to mention this before but better late than never) so im using non adhesive pads now to prevent this. I highly suggest you either request non adhesive pads at your post op appointment or bring then with you so you dont end up like me. (you can buy them from your local pharmacy, Walmart, or amazon etc)

Ok so im going to try to make this as detailed and accurate and honest as possible.

I booked through CG Cosmetics with Dr Krau which is not his personal office, its a surgery center that offers multiple doctors and a variety of procedures. I absolutely hated my experience with CG and the only reason that I am leaving this review with 5 stars is because as of now 8 days post op I do not hate my boobs I actually love them and I believe that Dr Krau did a good job, and dont want to tarnish his real self ratings based solely off of my experience with CG. I will walk you through my experience step by step. But just know you will only see him the morning of your surgery thats it, youll be told if you want him for post op visits that it will be an additional cost, and at post op appointments you will be waiting atleast 30 minutes before being seen in a room full of girls complaining of their horrible experience with CG as well. 

My previous bra size was 34 DDD but tbh they barely fit I just refused to go larger than a DDD I was in denial lol, I have no idea what my bra size is now because im healing but I weighed 175 before surgery and I now weigh 172 so I know he removed 3 lbs from my chest. I didn't want to text the doctor how much did you remove from each boob because the line was for concerns and issues and CG never told me so yeah thats all I know lol. The surgery itself was priced at 7,500 however after air bnb and airline cost for me and my companion as well as prescriptions, post op bras, a rental car, pre-op fees etc I spent 10,800 in total. :(

First thing first I booked with CG cosmetics before realizing that Dr Krau had his own office, which could have potentially changed my experience. The day of my pre-op appointment, I did not meet with the doctor, I did not have any contact with the doctor until the day of my surgery. Which I honestly do not suggest that any one do, it does not help you gain information or make you feel comfortable with the surgery your about to have if you dont even get the opportunity to meet your doctor ask him questions or anything of the sort, and I dont suggest this method to anyone.

The day of my surgery:

Dr Krau came in he marked me up and I asked him the questions that was burning in my brain, such as has he ever lost a nipple to necrosis and what were the chances of that happening to me, he was honest and said that he had inn fact lost a nipple before and that the chances of me loosing mine would be 1% based on my breast size and sagginess of my boobs (these are questions you should 100% get to ask way before the day of your surgery). He told me he would be removing atleast half of each boob for the look I wanted I was fine with this because realistically I wouldn't have cared if I was a C or a D I just didn't want DD or thee DD I had currently, I will leave a before and after picture later but I have to mark out my tattoos first so bare with me. Dr Krau then gave me a phone number that I could use to reach out to him directly if I had concerns or issues with my procedure (which I did appreciate and he does respond to).

I had a nurse come in after Dr Krau left and she started an IV for me, to which I was then left in the room for about 45 minutes just sitting here as the IV fluids drained from the bag which was now less than half of the bag remaining. A anesthesiologist then came in and asked me a series of questions and said he'd be the one working with Dr Krau, about 15 minutes after he left another anesthesiologist came in and said the last guy wasn't going to be working with me and in fact he'd be my anesthesiologist and asked me all of the same questions. He then walked me over to the surgery room where I was asked to lay one the sugary table and he joked with me until I completely fell asleep.

After I woke up from my surgery this is where the fun starts, I was in a small room with a number of other woman with only curtains seperating us all, the woman next to me was making so much noise I immediately became super irritated from that alone its not the best way to wake up from surgery. I was then I kid you not less than 5 minutes from waking up was given my cell phone and told to call my companion to pick me up, this was really weird to me because A. why didn't you call her the moment I came out of surgery since you asked me for her number 3 times prior to surgery for that purpose. B. because I was not even awake for 2 full minutes. After I called her and told her that I was awake and that she could come get me, I can not make this up I was asked to call her again 10 minutes later to see where she was, this was super annoying because really, and then again maybe 3 minutes later asked to call again to find out how close she was. My companion then told me she was bout 3 minutes away, and they got me up put me in the wheelchair and literally started to push me out side before she even stated that she had arrived. I was livid, I had not been awake for even 20 minutes and they were LITERALLY PUSHING ME OUT OF THE DOOR!! 

Thankfully by the time we got outside my ride was pulling up so I didn't have to wait outside for her to arrive. I then left and went to my air bnb because I flew from out of town for my surgery. When I got to my air bnb guys i fainted but luckily for me I knew the signs because I've fainted before so I quickly got to my bed when I noticed it was about to happen so I would not hit the floor, my companion reached out to CG about this and left a voicemail because after they answered the phone they sent her to a recorded line where she could leave a message for a nurse the girls on the phone did not care, and no one ever contacted me back about this. Thankfully I knew to drink a Gatorade when I woke up and tons of water so thats what I did and I was fine.

Day 2, I went in for my first Post op with a nurse practitioner, not with Dr Krau (I never saw his face again) I started developing blisters from the tension of the tape 1 on my back and 3 on my chest she removed the majority of the tape that they had on me that was causing the tension but left the tape that was covering my sutures and told me if I developed any more of these blisters on or near my sutures to contact them and come to the clinic immediately. (I never developed any more blisters which is why I concluded it wasn't the presence of the tape but the tension from it) The doctor said my nest post op would be a week from that day but I was leaving in 5 days form this appointment so I immediately grew irritated because the surgical coordinator said I only needed to be there 4-5 days after surgery and I was staying 7, but yet you schedule me a second post op appointment 9 days after my surgery. Why wouldn't you recommend that I stay 9 days or even recommend 10 why say 4-5 days when you know this is completely unrealistic. I was super annoyed so I tell the NP my concerns and she said no problem you can come back the day before you leave. Mind you this appointment was never scheduled. I emailed them twice and left a voicemail asking that they schedule this appointment and I was completely ignored. Keep in mind my 2 day post op was on a Monday at 9:00am, I reached out Monday night, Tuesday & Wednesday and nothing.

Day 3, I started noticing yellow fluid draining from my incisions so I reached out to CG as well as my doctor to learn if this was normal or not, because the post op instructions said id see blood and clear fluids and this wasn't either so I panicked. Dr Krau texted me back that this was normal however CG literally never responded to me like ever.

Day 5, I notice this weird green color under my bra, this really freaked me out but I had been taking my temperature daily and smelling all of my fluids because If I had been developing an infection I would have gotten a fever and the fluids would have a foul smell, I did not have a fever and I did not have a smell but of course im still concerned because the color green is a huge red flag. I text Dr krau photos and explained to him that I did not have a fever or smell he told me that this was normal. I reached out the clinic because I still have not gotten my second appointment moved and now green so im demandingg that they rescheduled me to the next day, I was told no that they wouldn't but I did not let up I did not accept no as an answer and eventually was able to get someone on the phone who spoke to the nurse practitioner that I was seeing who approved me for the appointment the following day.

Day 6, I go in for my final post op appointment before I leave for home the following day, I go in and the NP proceeds to remove the remainder of my tapes clean my incisions etc, she was going to cut my stitches down as well but I told her not to, because I knew I was being seen 3 days earlier than she originally wanted to do it and told her that my mother is a RN and that id either have here do it or go to my PCP she said this was fine. When she removed my tapes everything looked fine but guys omg, I somehow popped stitch on my right nipple and as she was peeling back the tape my nipple started peeling back as well. I freaking lost it lol, I started panicking but she calmed me down and stated this was fine my nipples were healing well I had non signs of necrosis and she put steri strips on my nipple to place it back in place, cleaned me up put some gauze (that I requested, because I did not want my bra just touching my incisions) on my incisions and we put my bra back on and she said if I could fly back in 6 weeks for a follow up appointment to make sure everything is healing properly (I probably will not because again my mom is a RN who's worked in the OR along Many surgeons for years so ill have her look at me).

Day 8, im back home now took some edibles last night (doctor approved I did ask first) but I got too high and I pulled one of my stitches last night omg I know , thankfully I had some steri strips from my boyfriends mom who is also a RN lol so she stepped us through the process via phone , & I closed the area off my mom had to come over and fix me up this morning. But aside from that I am healing fine and my mom did notice another area where I had popped a stitch and placed a steri strip on that and told me to calm down sit down and take it easy for another week. Guys I promise I barely moved around a lot like I've mostly been bed ridden aside from using the bathroom but somehow I bust a stitch so even if your 7 days post op please ladies take it easy until all of you incisions have fully closed especially if you dont live in Miami I would hate for you guys to experience what I have and not have the necessary equipment on hand or the mom, and mother in law that I have to fix any issues just take it easy for atleast 2 weeks you'll feel like you can do a lot more after a week but take it from me DONT!!!
