Breast Reduction

WORTH IT
I'm a 28 year old female, 5 ft 9 about 155 lbs and started growing breasts at around 11 or 12. I fluctuated in weight drastically from being overweight to underweight before I finally found my average and my breasts reflected that. I was a 34 F before surgery but my left breast was probably a full cup size smaller and my right breast being bigger hung lower with a lower mammary fold and was wider as in it extended back to my side a little more. My nipples both pointed downwards, my breasts moved into my armpits when I layed down and I had terrible sagging and excess skin in the center of my chest that I could drag my finger upwards and catch it on. Because of the size and sagging I felt that made me look much older and matronly even though I dont have kids. I had my consulatation with Dr. Biswas about 2 months before my surgery as he and his team basically helped me put together a case to get my surgery approved by my insurance and in the end it got approved which was amazing. I met with his all female staff who were very sweet and helpful and they took care of most everything they could to make me as comfortable as possible to include taking the photos to go with my case and basically saved all the "uncomfortable" stuff for the very end which I actually very much apprecaited, so basically by the time I met with dr. Biswas it was straight to the business and measuring and expectations. Dr. Biswas was very knowledgable and straight forward with his expectations which I LOVED but he does it in a very inviting way that doesn't feel intimidating or off putting by any remote means. I had all my questions answered, he brought in his laptop when I requested to see before and after photos, he was more than happy to go grab it for me and spend time with me during my consultation showing me the photos, and he showed me clients with MY body and breast type to compare which was so incredibly helpful and insightful. Surgery went amazing from start to finish and I am about 2 weeks post op and I adore my new size and how I'm progressing. I dont have before shots of my bare breasts but I hope my description was adequate. The pictures I'm including now are from my 1 WEEK FOLLOW UP. There are indentations from my tape and compression garments but you can see how fantastic they turned out!!! I'll continue to update here but I honestly am so happy I only regret not getting it done sooner. I dont know my cup size just yet but I'd say I went from a severely asymmetrical and droopy F cup to around a c? I'll update when I get measured and do scar updates and all that as well.

Hi CLanette!
You look fabulous! Your look is what i am hoping for when i get my BR! Are you healing well? He did a magnificent job! You must be so happy! May i ask--do you know how much he removed? I'm a DD looking to become a small B. Take care :)

Hey there! Sorry to respond back so late but I am healing amazing!! I had my 3 week follow up today and my scarring is very minimal without even having done any scar therapies as of yet. I couldn't have asked for better results honestly. I'm not 100% sure how much was taken out but with it being covered by insurance there is a minimum amount that has to come out as far as I know.

Your recent photos are incredible--so natural and feminine looking! He seems like wonderful surgeon--enjoy bra shopping and do me a favour--rock a bralette! I can't wait until i can get my surgery done and buy tiny feminine dainty bras--oh what freedom! To lose that matronly look and feel comfortable and with no more pain!
Happy continuing healing my dear! :)

Wow. I'm very happy for you. I'm trying to take the plunge myself...did you have an anchor incision? And did you get implants, or is it all "you"? (Looks great and Natural). Thank you for sharing.

3 Week Post Op Update

AZBR
Hey just checking in again! So I'm 3 weeks post op and I had my stitches and steri strips removed just the other day and was approved to go ahead and start scar therapy if I so desired. My healing and scarring is progressing reeeeeally well but I'm going to be helping it along with some silicone scar sheets and silicone gel until my next follow up and then for 3 more weeks after that. I havent had any complications, I have full sensation in both my nipples, the only thing I have going on right now really is some numbness in the top inner portion of my right breast which was the bigger of the two but that numbness is fading and I was assured its normal. I'm gonna be posting an impromptu before and after of my breasts in clothing just to give you guys an idea of the size difference and I'll give another update after my next follow up to show how scarring is progressing cause I know it helped me a TON seeing others results and what to expect. That's all I got for now!

I was a 34 F or Triple D sometimes depending on the bra and I think I'm a C cup? I'm still wearing compression/sports bras and I got a bra that was for 34 C and it fit incredibly comfortable but wasnt giving me the pressure I needed for healing scars, so I'll probably wear those once I'm done with my scar therapy, so I went down a size to get more compression and it's not the most comfortable so I'm pretty sure 34 c is my size. I'll ask how much was taken out of each breast at my next follow up apt though since it seems to be a common question and let you guys know!

4 Ish Weeks Post Op

AZBR
Alright so about 4.5 weeks post op today, I go in for my 6 week post op follow up in a week and a half or so and from there it'll be a 3 month check up and then a year check up. Boobs are doing great! I still have numbness in my right breast on the inner portion but it sort of goes in and out at times and it will start to tingle and itch a little when the feeling is trying to come back which is wierd lol but I've been massaging the tissue on both breasts which seems to help. Both nipples still have full sensation. I currently have silicone sheets along my incisions to help with scarring and they stay on pretty much 24/7 and they last a week until you have to hand wash and let them air dry before reapplying and each sheet lasts 2 weeks, so that's what you see in the photos. With the aereolar incisions I've just been cleaning and applying silicone gel that I massage in and then they're good to go as there is still some leftover scabbing from where my stitches came out. Overall I've just been keeping everything clean and moisturized and doing light massaging whenever I can to keep the scars soft and to help with blood flow and so everything can settle. Im still wearing sports bras/compressed wireless bras 24/7 of course cause my boobs are like play dough and are still taking shape. I also had questions about how much was taken out and I actually found my OR report so I can finally answer that question lol. In the end after all was said and done 425g was removed from the left (which was my smaller boob) and 622 was removed from the right (which was my much bigger, wider boob that extended back towards my side). My doctor checked for symmetry several times throughout my procedure and stopped when it was felt "no more could be removed without compromising blood supply to the tissue and areola" - which I felt was super important to note/share here because I know alot of women would like to go down to a b or an a cup coming from an f,g,h, or I etc etc, and this hopefully helps you understand why it may not be possible in just 1 procedure, some people have to do it in stages and have 2 reductions. But anyway, I love my new size, I'm happy with how my healing is going and I hope this has helped someone! I'll check back in after my 6 week follow up!

Hey girl! Nice healing! I was wondering -- is silicone the best for healing? And when you massage-is there a safe way to do that? I would be afraid of maybe pressing to hard or not doing it right! Thanks for any info and take care!
October 13, 2019
Hey there! From all the research I've done, and I've done alotttttt of it ( like years worth lol) the biggest take away I got was that yes silicone was the best for scarring. Silicone and pressure. Silicone is the best moisturizer for the scars, and pressure helps take the tension off the scar by holding it together/in place, so it doesn't get thick or irritated from constant pulling, so I'll be wearing compression bras and these silicone strips/massaging with silicone gel for a while. I found alot of cost effective options online where the product is 100% medical grade silicone but costs a quarter as much as in office stuff. But I would still encourage you to do your own research and maybe see what your doc has to offer to determine what's the best for you of course! As far as massaging I just do small circles with as much pressure as I can comfortably tolerate, so nowhere near to the point I'm like wincing or anything. I didn't start the massages until after my stitches came out so I'm not worried about anything coming apart or infecting anything really but of course I always make sure I have clean hands or I'll just rub over top of my bra.

Thanks so much for all the above advice on massage and silicone--you gave us all some very helpful info! It's appreciated and when my surgery is done i will give these options a whirl!! It's always good to find out what others do so we don't harm ourselves or prolong healing. I'm an older gal so i have to be more cautious than a lady of a younger age. You look so natural and free in your photos and i wish you continued healing and happiness with your new look! Thanks again! :)
