Goodbye 38J, Hello New Baby Boobs

WORTH IT
Let me start by saying I had my surgery yesterday so excuse any typos because I’m in slight pain and under meds but I wanted to capture my thoughts in real time.

A little backstory.. like many of you al, I developed early. Got my first training bra at 10 years old, was a full C cup by 10th grade, a double D by college, and then I wore a Triple D for way too long becise I wasn’t properly fitted and stores didn’t carry higher than that. At about 27 I went to Nordstrom’s (ladies please get a properly fitting bra it goes along way!) to get fitted and found out I was really a 38G. Started birth control and my breast grew even more.
Before the surgery I was a 38J and I’m only 5’3. I’m curvy but a bit overweight at 230lbs and I thought that would me back in getting approved. It did not! I have Care First and I was approved 100%. I went to a new doctor on a Monday, told her about my back and shoulder pain. She requested Xrays, found out I have arthritis in my back, she suggested surgery as my only option. Had an appointment with Dr. Woodward on the next Wednesday. She submitted everything and I was approved the next week with a procedure date the next month.

I was so thankful that my weight or not seeing a chiropractor came into play. I have recently lost 30 pounds and my cup size did not change. I could no longer handle the weight of my breast and working out. Let alone finding a sports bra that would fit me. I’ll include some before pictures below.

Halleluja! It's so wonderful to hear that your insurance covered your procedure! So many people just don't understand why/how breast reduction surgery is sometimes medically necessitated. I was approved because of migraine, neck pain, back pain, deep shoulder grooves and scars under my breasts from having to wear underwire bras since I was 11-years old! (I'll be 51 in a little over a week) I'm nervous but excited! Reading reviews is giving me so much hope!

Day 5

ByeByeBoobs19
The pain has been weird. It’s not that my breast hurt individually but the pressure and tightness of them makes me need pain meds. I’ve been taking Tylenol every 4 hours and 5mg of Oxy when needed. People have warned me about taking them but the dose is so low it relieves pain but doesn’t make me feel high or foggy brain.
My breast look like Frankenstein boobs right now but they’re not bleeding and I had minimum drainage. I’m worried about when they’ll smooth out and take shape. My back has been aching from sleeping in the recliner, thinking I should transition to the bed soon. Oh I’m also starting to feel the itchiness many people talk about. Okay I’m done complaining. I’ll post a day 3 pic

Day 6, it gets better.

Finally starting to feel like myself again. I stopped taking the oxy, finally got my bowels moving, and the swelling is going down. Just wanted to post an update and check in and show updated before and after.

Next I'm worried about the stitches smoothing out and they seem puffy on the sides. I have a one week check up tomorrow so I hope to go over these questions. Can't wait to see what my final size and shape will be.

(Also can someone tell me how to make the pictures not look so zoomed in?)
