Like many others I have been stalking this website for a couple of months. I have learned a lot about what to expect and read great advice regarding things to promote healing. I am ready to get this done!
I started wearing a bra in 4th grade and remember being teased as others were not yet wearing bras. They seem to keep growing as have gone from 36C in my early 20's to 34I at 44. I have always disliked my breasts as they get in the way and they got me noticed more for looks than the fact that I am actually smart and have a brain. I have been asked many times if they are real and once I heard a lady say to her husband "they are fake" as he was gawking at me. Hello rude lady, I can hear you. My profile name is a nickname that was given to me in my single days by the bartender at a restaurant we frequented. ???? That was one of many throughout the years.
I am a small frame of 5ft 3 and currently weigh 155 lbs. I need to cut some extra lbs however my normal size is 4/6 but currently wear a size 8. Even when down 15 lbs my bra only changed 1 cup size.
All clothing has to fit my boobs. No strapless, no spaghetti straps, or string bikinis, etc etc etc. Good bye to looking pregnant or "fat" due to the tent affect.
In the last year I have developed significant back pain in shoulders and neck which led me to begin chiropractic treatment. I learned that I have begun to lose the cervical curve in my spine and I have also developed a bone spur in the cervical spine. In addition, I get a massage once a week due to high work stress however I believe my pain has been more related to the boobs. Pain, pain is gonna be going away.
I have always wanted a breast reduction and decided that it was going to be my 45th birthday present to myself I assuming it would not be covered by insurance. I am not even sure what made me ask, but I work in health insurance and decided to have one of our nurse reviewers provide me with the criteria for medical necessity. I was blown away when I saw it. I more than met it. So, I scheduled a consult with my plastic surgeon and off we went. Insurance approved and it is scheduled for 3 weeks from tomorrow. Happy Dance!!
I am so excited and I believe it is going to change my world. Bralettes, strapless, no bra, spaghetti straps, and pain free living here I come.
My desire is to be a full B cup. My biggest fear is they will end up larger than I want so I am telling my PS that I want itty bitty [RS bleep]. I am wearing that string bikini on my Mexico vacation in September.
As I review my post I see where I talk more about all of the superficial reasons I am happy about the surgery. There are so many emotional reasons as well, and to those of us that carry or have carried this burden, you know what those are just as I do. The scars will forever remain to remind me of the journey. Not that it ends, it will just be a different journey of emotional healing and wholeness.

Hello I am just two weeks post opt I have had neck and back issues for years with 4 neck surgerys 2 of which are fused and 3 lumbar surgerys. I told my surgeon right before surgery I would rather be on the SMALLER SIDE OF C then the larger side I wore 38DDD one side and other 38DD and I was overflowing from tops sides and bottom of them so I was never properly measured I have some bruising and swelling cant wait till six months out I have a small boxy look going on I told him I wanted to be smaller I could always wear a padded bra I never have been able to I always got the thin miminizer bras Some times I look and I seem big still when Im swelled other times I think YEP LOOKS GOOD so it will take time for my body to accept the new itty bittys and I could drop 25 pounds easy hoping I can get around better GOOD LUCK keep us posted I just did a profile with photos today I had hard time finding all of them could be a while before it gets thru the approval process

Thanks for your honest post! Great going, and the best on your upcoming procedure. This site has helped me a lot during my reduction. It is a ‘journey’ that doesn’t end with the procedure, but it’s a start to a whole new lifestyle.

Surgery is 2 weeks from today. Starting to have more anxiety. I know I am doing the right thing for me. Just nervous as I have never been under general anesthesia nor had to stay at hospital for any length of time. All will be fine. Started my pre op vitamins from Makemeheal.com yesterday. Just trying to be as healthy as possible.
You are about to feel like a new woman and will love it. You are tiny and a B cup is definitely nice. I am shorter than you are and went from a DDD to a B. Take a picture into your doctor so he can get a visual on what you would like for final size.
