2 Week Checkup

WORTH IT
I've had more pain than I thought it would be. If there's such a thing as Post-OP depression, I think I could have it. Maybe it's just sleep deprivation. Have had a very hard time sleeping. I'm a side sleeper and there's no way I can do that yet. I still have a lot of swelling under my arms, the "side boob" area. I feel like I swell up a lot at night. Got my steristrips off yesterday and overall, I'm happy with the look of the incisions. I have a couple of buckled areas but I started scar cream and gentle massage so hopefully that will help. With the amount of swelling I've had (no drains), I've also noticed a few tiny new stretch marks. I also still have a "bubble" in the top of my right breast. I'm so ready for the pain and swelling to make a significant decrease. I feel like it's a three steps forward two steps back kind of healing process. But my doc is super happy with how I'm progressing so I'll take it.

Looks gooks. You can really see the form
Coming in on the first pic posted in this update.I also have swelling the worse at night or if I’m too active/ on my feet too long. 400 mg of Mortrin brings me relief. I also didn’t have drainage. If I could do anything over I think that may have been it. The option of choosing a doc that uses drains.
Typo: looks Good :-)
I was quite surprised when I woke up and I didn't have drains. They had even taught me how to do the drain care at my pre-op visit. I forgot to ask why he decided not to do it. I also wish I had them. I just think maybe it would have helped with the swelling.
You look awesome! I hope each day brings you some relief. I am anxious for tomorw to find out if insurance will allow my surgery. Must say when insurance will help!! Have a blessed and pain free as possible day!!

Day 1-3

Surgery day went great. I was at my Doc’s surgical center for about 6 hours. He did the keyhole/anchor style reduction and ended up using a muscle from my under arm to add fullness. I did not have drains placed. I remember waking up and crying from the pain. The pain has been much worse than I expected. I can’t use my arms at all to maneuver my body so having someone with you nearly round the clock for the first several days is a must. I’ve been sleeping in a recliner and it’s gone well. Day 3 I had some weird bubbling/gurgling noises so I went to get checked. Just normal seroma (liquid pocket) since I don’t have drains. It was the first time I looked at the incisions. Bruising and bleeding was way less than I expected. My doc provided Bromelain and Arnica supplements to begin before surgery and I really think that has helped a lot. My plan was to go to a C/D cup so I’m anxious for some of the swelling to go down and softness to settle in. Overall, super happy so far.

Thanks for sharing info on the supplements- I’m going to look into those. Congrats on your procedure! It’s a couple of ladies healing all around the same time on here. Makes a nice community. Thanks for the words on my profile earlier :-)

Background: Im 46, 3 kids (2 breastfed). Early bloomer, I was a 34 D in middle school. Both of my grandmothers had ginormous boobs with cleavage starting at their necks. I can't live like that. Ive gained weight the last 3 year even though I'm active. I work out 4 days a week but my breasts just keep getting larger and droopier. I've wanted to do this for years.
