34E hoping to be 34B/C

ORIGINAL POST

32 yr old with no kids - 34E hoping to be 34B

I've had large breasts since they seemed to appear overnight when I was 16ish. As I've gotten older, they just get larger and it's impossible to keep up in my workout classes ... while everyone is jogging, I'm power walking ... while everyone is able to jump around, I'm stuck doing the alternative moves. I have put it off for years thinking it wouldn't be covered by insurance or it is selfish if I can't breastfeed if/when I have children down the line but I'm 32 now and sick of them and I want to LIVE without a giant chest defining me. YOLO! I finally called to set up a consultation through my insurance provider and after a quick and easy consult where the surgeon took my measurements I was approved by insurance within a couple days! I'm scheduled for Aug 31! I'm currently a 34E and we discussed going to a C but I'm going to request she go as small as she can (preferably a B). I'm scared for the recovery but I know it will be worth it! Can't wait for normal bras, normal clothes, cute workout tops and bathing suits!

Kudos to you for going forward with it now. I had mine done last year at age 51 and the ONLY regret I have is that I didn't do it much, much sooner. I could have enjoyed so much more in life and avoided a lot of the pain I endured for years. I'm trying to make up for lost time now! But better to just "git 'er done" while you have many more years to enjoy it!! And I think for an active person a B is great. I was a large B/small C the first few months after surgery, but now that they've dropped a bit I'm more of a real C. I wouldn't want to be any bigger, if anything wouldn't mind being a bit smaller. But I do have a bit of bodyfat I'm working on losing, so hoping they'll go down a bit. I've only seen a few gals on here that wish they were bigger but quite a few that wish they'd gone smaller so...go small!

Thank you for the encouraging message! I've been obsessively looking at pictures and reviews on here and agree with you, I want to go as small as possible ... at least a B. The idea of having a small chest is mind-blowing to me and I cannot wait! Just nervous for the process... I know it will be SO worth it!

Not to sound weird, but your breasts are very similar to mine and I’m also hoping to be a B post surgery. What insurance do you have? I’m getting BCBS soon and I’m hoping the process won’t be too awful. Also good luck with surgery!!! Please keep updating.

Surgery in 8 days!

TexasForever
I wrote a new review accidentally and just figured out how to update my first one ...

I'm very, very nervous! Surgery is next Friday and I'm prepared logistically just not sure if I'm prepared mentally? What if I freak out that I've permanently changed my body? What if I die while I'm put to sleep? I'm a worrier!

Good to know you're normal...I think we all freak out a little bit (well most of us anyway)!

Before Pics

Had my husband take some before pics tonight ... my surgery is in 5 days! I deep cleaned the house today and cleaned out my closet ... threw out my "big boob" shirts and pile of enormous ugly bras, so there is no going back now! I'm excited but nervous for the surgery and recovery. I'm scared of pain medicine and feeling sick. Hopefully, I'll be on just Tylenol ASAP. I just keep thinking about the end result when I start to worry. Any words of advice or encouragement during these last few days until my surgery will be so appreciated!

We’re close to being surgery twins! I’m going in on 8/30! I’m also going to ask my surgeon to try for a B rather than the C we discussed at consult. I did my “boob nesting” this weekend too, although I have yet to pile up the bras and boob shirts because I’m kind of in denial that they’ll actually be too big for me afterward. We’re going to do great and I’ll look for your updates as I’m recovering! On an unrelated note, I love Texas and visited Round Rock and the Austin area several years ago! Love your city and would live there in a heartbeat!

Surgery (almost) twin! I'll be thinking of you Thursday! Have you done your pre-op yet? Mine is Wednesday and I'm going to take my photos for what I'm hoping for and ask all my last-minute questions. What size are you starting at? Cleaning out my huge bras was therapeutic and encouraging ... even if you just put them away in a future trash bag. Let's stay in touch during recovery!

I did my preop on 8/17 and discussed with the P.A. at the time that I was thinking B/C as my goal instead of C, she noted it and I’ll reiterate that on Thursday when my surgeon is marking me up. My insurance company (Kaiser) does everything in house with their own medical staff so the process has been a little different than going to a private practice surgeon. I have wish pics I might show my surgeon on Thursday, but the PA said it’s best not to go in with a specific image in mind since they have to prioritize the medical necessity component above everything else. I’m starting out at 34G, but it’s a lot of sagging skin and not as much volume so I’m hoping they can reconstruct something small but nicely shaped and full. Here’s to our last few days with the big girls and cheers to our first weekend with the tiny ones!

I hope your doing well... my surgery is on 9/18/18 and everything you’ve shared I’ve thought or done. I’m cleaning out closets, house, and I’m so happy about this decision but very nervous also. When you feel up to it I hope you can share some more

Thanks for commenting. I understand the nervousness but I'm excited for you. And I will be sharing my progress for sure!

Make sure they give you something for nausea. I had little dissolvable pills to go with the percoset. I know you want to avoid them, but it's best to be prepared in case there's more discomfort than you'd like. Also, get some Sucrets or Chloraseptic spray if your throat and tonsils are sensitive. For me, the soreness from the thing they put in my throat (not a tube per se, they said it's just a thing that keeps the airway open) was one of the worst things the first few days. My uvula swelled up huge and I had a hard time swallowing (felt like strep or tonsilitis, both of which I've had a lot of and might be why I'm sensitive there?)...regular cough drops didn't touch it. The chloraseptic spray worked wonders. That and keeping a big tumbler of ice water on hand at all times. And yes when you start fretting, list off all the reasons you're doing this! That's what kept me going!

I picked the throat spray up today, Stool softener ( no cool way to say that) I think I have everything until Inthink of something or someone mentions something in RS post... I don’t have silicon strips or gel yet ...is that going to be something I should have on hand?

You won't be able to start using any kind of scar treatment until your outer incisions are healed (a month or so), so there isn't any need to get that yet. You can ask your doctor about what they recommend when you go for your follow up appointments. Some docs will have you keep your incisions taped for a while (mine did) , and some won't. They will give you specific instructions for all of your aftercare (how to empty and measure your drains if your having them, what to avoid, and what to watch out for) before you get discharged. From there you just need to go home and rest, and make sure to follow the instructions! Have whoever is helping you go over the instructions too, because you may forget stuff they tell you! I felt pretty lucid once I woke up after surgery and got moving, but I realized later I had forgotten some stuff. That's what happens with narcotics! Oh and, take more stool softeners than you could ever think you'll need-I wished I had!
