Last few weeks have been fantastic, feeling so much better pain wise (no painkillers at all, not even advil/Tylenol). Was very itchy as the wounds were healing/nerves coming back to life. Was having issues with scratching in my sleep, although I could abstain in the daytime I was scratching scabs/opening wounds during the night so was covering myself up in wraps and bandages which seemed to help. Can lie on my side or front no problem which is fabulous, sleep and BM completely back in rhythm. I will admit the first month of this process was very touch and go (especially emotionally) but once you get past the 4 week mark you really feel the improvement daily. They’re softening up and looking great! Have worn a few cute outfits out and about that I would have never dreamt of wearing, not even having to wear a bra is so liberating. I finally look in the mirror and see who I want to see looking back at me as cheesy at that may sound. I couldn’t recommend this procedure more and I’m only two months out. One nipple needs to regain pigment and going for a check up w the dr tomorrow and discuss scar therapy (although they do not bother me at all!) will update again soon!

2 weeks post op.

So I’m officially at the 2 week marker. Meeting the dr again this Friday. Sounds stupid but not sure if my stitches are dissolvable or will be removed then, I hope so as they are itchy and uncomfortable! At this stage I am feeling a LOT better. A lot stronger, just taking Tylenol as and when needed (morning and night). I’m walking and getting fresh air and not as fatigued by small excursions, even went grocery shopping this weekend (with my husband carrying everything etc!). Friends have been good and popping in the house so don’t feel isolated. Pain wise is substantially different, now more itchy where the wounds are healing/stitches are and tight but not AS tight as last week. My nipples are healing at different rates, one is doing fantastically and the other not so much but it’s still early doors yet so not concerned. Don’t want to be over confident with my recovery process so still taking everything very slow and easy. BM seem to be back to usual and have slept 6 solid hours the last 4 nights which has been my first bout of good sleep on this journey so far.

Week later

Feeling better every day, sleeping is still and issue but pain management not so much, trying to ween off of painkillers now. Feeling less tight across my front but the sides are still very sore. I took off my post surgery bra and just used padding and surgical tape for a few days as the bra was tight on my incisions and making them sore. I have put the bra back on today and feels better. 10 days until next appt w my Dr, looking forward to how that goes and I’ll get some stitches out hopefully. Still taking it easy and walking everyday with my husband (who has now gone back to work, I’m pretty capable by myself at this point) but as my appetite has not been great I get light headed when walking so he accompanied me. Ups and downs in the first week but so far so good. Can already say I’d do it all over again and they’re still sore and look funny.

OMG you look amazing! I hope you’re able to get a decent amount of sleep soon. Thanks for sharing your journey as it helps me to understand the process when its my turn.
Thank you! I'm 2 weeks in now and already so happy with my decision. If it's something you've been thinking of I recommend exploring your options and going for it!
Thanks I’m going for a consultation next Tuesday. I’m hoping to get scheduled for February. I’m SO ready to have this done!
Omg ! Couldn't agree more! The bra rubbing at stitches is ABSOLUTELY the most uncomfortable part!!!!!!!!
