My breasts have ballooned up from the time I was in fifth grade. I barely remember being a C or D cup. I am now a freshman in college and can no longer bear this burden so my father has agreed to help me get a breast Reduction for my 19th birthday. I will be having my procedure done with Dr. Yeon Jenny Chang of JC Plastic Surgery of Atlanta. Her reviews are amazing and her staff made me feel comfortable and welcome the moment I? stepped into her practice. I also had a referral to her from my former literature teacher in high school who also had a breast reduction by her in October . Hoping for no complications and smooth recovery

Can’t wait much longer

My surgery date is December 19th and honestly now that I’m exactly
two weeks away from having my Reduction, I feel like my back and
shoulders are in more pain. Getting really anxious and impatient. Also
realized just how big these things are compared to my body. Wow. Can’t
even imagine myself with normal size boobs but I’m beyond ready and
nervous about anesthesia

You will do fine. I was nervous about anesthesia too, I am 51 and had never had a general anesthesia before! But these days it is a very advanced science. There is very little risk of serious complications. The most common side effect is nausea but they will give you something for that. Both the general and the pain meds afterward can cause that, plus make you very constipated. SO make sure you take lots of stool softeners, prune juice, whatever you need to help with that as it can be VERY uncomfortable! The time if the actual surgery is a breeze though, it seems like no time goes by from when you get to the OR and then you're waking up with small boobs! Just make sure you read through lots of info on here and elsewhere so you are well prepped for your healing time. Good for you for getting it done now while you're young. I wish I could have done it at your age!

Hang in there! You are almost there! My surgery is the 13th and I am with you on the pain. I. Am. Over. It. It has actually been a good reminder why I’m having surgery. Every time I start to get the feeling I might chicken out, I’m quickly reminded why it is the right decision. Best of luck to you! I will be following your journey!

Another setback for finances

Unfortunately I’m paying for this surgery out pocket. My insurance is set not to cover it and my surgeon’s practice doesn’t accept it anyway. There’s been a miscommunication between the office and myself where I was under the impression half of my balance would be paid at the pre operative appointment and the other half to the hospital facility afterwards and in payments. Turns out they’re both due at the pre operative appointment and now I’m unsure I’ll be able to keep my date for December. This will be the second time my date has moved. I was supposed to have it in November. I’ve tried to help my dad raise the money on Gofundme and scraping it together from multiple family members with no luck. I want this more than anything. I’ve been actively in a struggle to make this surgery a reality for three years he missed my senior prom to get it but it didn’t happen. My heart is broken and I’m losing hope. I keep getting closer to just lose again. I have to come up with 2,522 by the 15th or there goes my surgery again and I doubt I can do that. Will keep y’all updated. :(

have you tried to change insurance company and try with that new one at another doctor’s office? it might save you quite a lot of money and there are many qualified surgeons that will accept insurance
