Five Stars Aren’t Even Close to Enough….

15 months ago, at the age of 41, I never thought I’d be visiting a plastic surgeon to discuss breast reconstruction after a bilateral mastectomy for a sudden and unexpected breast cancer diagnosis. But here I am. And I cannot imagine a single step I’ve taken in this process without the care and support I received from Dr Gupta and his team at Verve. They have treated me like a friend from my very first visit, demonstrating more compassion and kindness than I ever would have thought possible from medical professionals. From my mastectomy and reconstruction with tissue expanders and then implants, through nipple reconstruction and fat replacement, to areola tattooing with the most incredibly talented Tina, there is not a moment that they have not helped me navigate and held my hand through. While I also have had a wonderful team of oncologists, surgeons, nurses, and care providers through my hospital, it is the group of amazing humans at Verve who have been there to hug me, hold my hand before and after procedures, cry with me, laugh with me, and celebrate with me. AND never once have I felt pressured to change my body - no upselling of Botox or additional surgeries, although I’m sure they’d do them with the utmost perfection and professionalism. They’ve listened to me along the way, making sure I understood what was happening, knew the long and short term plans, and was being heard for what I wanted for my body.

Dr Gupta and his team at Verve are the people you pray will be the ones taking care of you (or someone you love) at this terrifying moment in life - and while I hope no one ever HAS to seek them out for help, it is amazing to know they will be there for us if/when we need them.

And…. my breasts now look better than anything I ever had naturally! But since the real ones were trying to kill me, I LOVE the ones Dr Gupta and Tina made sure I took home!
