Skin and Nipple Sparing Reconstruction with Implants

I’m BRCA 2+ and I decided to have Prophylactic double mastectomy with skin and nipple sparing reconstruction. My doctor decided that I would benefit over the muscle instead of under. However, my skin is very thin and during my reconstruction my skin tour around my areola. Since being there has been numerous procedures to try to close one little annoying area of my skin. It just will not heal. Was hoping for any suggestions or maybe has anyone else gone through the same thing as I’m going through.

I hope by now this has healed--I had the same issue, but it did eventually close. My surgeon said the buried stitches had been rejected, and they then had to force their way to the surface before it could close. It looks perfectly normal now.
I had the same surgery. My breast implant came through the skin at the bottom of the breast and ultimately had to be removed one week ago. I’be been told the skin is too thin for another implant. The implant put in by my surgeon we’re much larger than I wanted. I am hoping a small implant would be appropriate but am awaiting a second opinion.
Unfortunately the only way to fully heal the skin may be to also have your implant removed for now.
