I am about 10 weeks post-reconstruction and I'm thrilled with my results!
Dr. Amy Colwell performed my two-stage breast reconstruction. The first stage was with expanders after another excellent surgeon at Massachusetts General performed my double mastectomy.
Recently, in June of 2023, Dr. Colwell performed the second (final) stage of surgery to replace my expanders with silicone implants at the Waltham Mass General location. I received Natrelle Gel Inspira Style Round Extra Full implants as we had previously discussed. I had very little pain/discomfort with this surgery and my recovery was uneventful. Throughout the entire experience, Dr. Colwell and her team were kind and very responsive to all of my questions.
What is most remarkable about my experience though is Dr. Colwell's level of skill. I am beyond pleased with the final results which have exceeded my expectations in every way. Even my oncologist remarked that I have one of the best breast reconstructions she has ever seen. Dr. Colwell is meticulous and clearly takes pride in her work. After dealing with breast cancer and all the stress that it entails, it certainly feels amazing to be on the other side of it and to feel great about my reconstructed breast. I'm grateful for Dr. Colwell's commitment to excellence and I highly recommend her to anyone needing breast reconstruction.
