Scraping of breast tissue caused a wound, which then got infected. One expander had to be removed due to infection. Aeroform AirXpander company went out of business. New Allergan expanders installed 5 months later. Now one is popped and has to be replaced. Bad luck, Surgeon errors? Not sure.

Surgery to replace popped expander is scheduled for May 29th, 2020. I assuming no one else has experienced a popped expander?

Nothing but Problems

I had a double mastectomy on April 9,2019. Dr Castellon did reconstruction with expanders. Infection set in (He didn't change my antibiotic until 4 days after receiving the results of the infection). I was hospitalized for 5 days. Then expander was taken out & he gave me a hematoma (which he didn't want to tell me about - the infectious disease Dr told me). He popped an expander which required another surgery. 1 1/2 yrs - final surgery - scars almost across my entire chest and under both breasts. Follow up was 2 days later. I asked why he put another 4" scar on me when he had gone through the same scar the last time, he proceeded to yell, cuss and tell me that he can't ask my permission to do everything. Called me a cosmetic B#%ch and the I should be thanking him for saving me from breast cancer. He's not even the surgeon that removed the breast cancer. He was very unprofessional and demeaning. FYI- DON'T ask him questions. He just says, "Just trust me". Don't!!!

I had a Dr. just like him with the God complex. Made you feel like crap. Had 3 surgeries with him then left him and gave him a public review less that -1. That's the only way to get them to feel it. In their pocket! So sorry you endured that. I have since had a great PS and 3 surgeries with him. The first 2 he did his best to fix what Dr. U had done but here we are 2 yrs. later and I have a implant going under my arm and a nipple sticking to my muscle which is painful. I am having surgery with PS #3 and surgery #7 here's hoping this is it!

OMG! That looks horrible. How terrible that you had to go through that. I hope you got a better result from someone else in the end. And I hope you sued his pompous ass.

Yes I concur. He needs to be accountable for his atrocious actions and attitude.

Horrible

FaithBased

I went to Dr Castellon in Jan of 2019 for breast reconstruction. It should have been a 2 operation and finish in 6 months but took him 6 operations and almost 2 years. Infections were the first problems (which he didn’t look at cultures for 4 days so I was on the wrong antibiotic for those extra days). Gave me a hematoma (which an infectious disease Dr had to tell me about and Castellon said he knew I had already). He popped an expander. Put an additional scar on me that he didn’t tell me he was going to put so I’m cut across and under both breasts. Off center cleavage which he said he would fix but didn’t. Then after the final surgery when I questioned him on what to expect, he literally cussed me out. Told me I was turning into a cosmetic [RS bleep] and I need to stop busting his [RS bleep] balls. Talk about surprised! Not even two days out of surgery and to be treated like this?! He has issues. I pray anyone seeing him goes for a second opinion.
