Great PS Who Cares

Bulletathome
He is my ps for reconstruction after breast cancer with a double mastectomy. He has taken his time with me. He put in expanders the same time I had my double mastectomy. I am in the process of fills. The girls in the office always answer all my phone calls and questions and if they don’t know the get with dr Fetter and call me right back with the answer. Hopefully will have my implants put in November. He always answers all my questions and has showed great compassion.

I’m so happy that you’ve found a dr you feel so good about. It’s been 3 years since my cancer diagnosis and my PS has just been the best. Super intelligent, caring, kind, positive, calm, treats me like an equal and not just a number AND has a great team with his nurse and PA. Due to addl medical problems I’ve had, he has performed 9 procedures on me in 3 years.

Because you go every week for your fills, they almost become like family, don’t they?

I hope all goes well with you and your final surgery is just around the corner. I know how irritating and painful those expanders can be, but once you have your surgery, you’ll be back to your “new” self in no time !!

Take good care of yourself and don’t overdo it.

I do feel very lucky I walk in and they know who I am No need to tell them my name. Should find a surgery date this next week. He told them he would travel to any of our two hospitals so I can get in soon I told him I was a little worried but he assured me he would take good care of me and I would be feeling better soon.

Good luck w your surgery and happy healing. Do EXACTLY what they tell you (I'm a little bit oppositional) bc they've done this a lot and know what works and what doesn't. I kept reading on RS that one dr said this and one said that . . . I got so confused and probably drove Carol, my nurse, crazy with text messages. She just told me to do what "the boss" told me to do and I'd be just fine. And I am! I had a hard time holding my phone to text and sitting at my computer was a total no-go for a while. Let us know how you're doing when you can.

Best wishes to you! I had a preventive double mastectomy and tissue expanders on July 25th. I have had five fills to take me to 600cc. I am 5'4 and weigh 140 pounds. My implant exchange surgery with fat grafting is scheduled for next Thursday, October 10th. I can honestly say that this entire experience has been pretty crazy. My breast surgeon is also my plastic surgeon. I'll be so happy when this is over. Hang in there!

Thank you!! Wishing you the best on the 10th. Let me know how it goes. I go in on the 17th. So looking forward to getting rid of these expanders I bet you are too I only have 500 cc but I am 64 and don’t want to big for my age lol.

Hey there. I am seventeen days post exchange and can definitely say that I am FINALLY feeling a little more like my old self. My hubby helped me to take off my stinky steri strips yesterday (they had turned brown and were starting to smell weird). I also had fat grafting as part of my exchange surgery to try to combat rippling. We also peeled off the six stern strips on my breasts were the fat was transferred. Although I still have four stitches on my lower stomach and hips from the fat grafting, I just feel so incredibly much better, I go back to my surgeon on Oct. 30th and am hopeful that he'll remove the remaining stitches. I'm still sleeping in my recliner (I think that's more psychological than physical). Each day gets a little better. I hope that you are doing well and are recovering nicely!!!

Well they put in mentor hp 385 and 350. I still have drains in hope to get them out this next week. Right now I feel sore still and living in my recliner also Sort if bummed feel like I had more boobs when I was 11. PS said it will all drop into place in a month or so but I am not sure about that I was hoping for a c size and these seem to be a A. More like a bumps on my chests. Trying to think positive and hopefully things will work out All seems to be healthy and healing well. Scars seem to be ok. What size were yours? not sure what I can or will do if they stay the way they are. Not sure if I should have gone through all this instead of just staying flat Thank You for getting back to me. Looking forward to feeling better

I totally feel your pain (literally). I finally forced myself to sleep in my bed last night. My back is so incredibly sore, so I'm sitting on my heated blanket typing this (it's helping). Although I didn't get the best night's sleep, I slept in my bed! YAY! I think that it's the little things that we took for granted that we start doing again help to show us that we are healing. I am so sorry that you are not happy with your current results. I've learned that the majority of women that go through this have some type of revision surgery. Typically the revision surgery is performed between nine and twelve months post exchange surgery. The number one reason for revision is implant size. I have Allergan smooth SRX 650cc. I go back to my surgeon day after tomorrow. I still feel like they are under my armpit to a certain extent but as each day passes it seems to get a little better. Hang in there, it'll get better :-)
