6 Weeks!!

Had my 6 week checkup yesterday!
Minor complication- you may be able to tell the right breast is healing a bit slower, I had (what looked to me like) a couple of open wounds on the middle seam, but the Dr assured me those are from stitch rejection and will heal up soon. I was told I did not need to do scar cream or anything else since I wore the micropore tape for 6 weeks. I don't need to address the open spots either- they're already dried up since removing the tape, and they should heal soon.
Red seams should go away and become thin white scars in the next 9-12 months.
Overall, I am quite happy with this procedure. I feel good, I feel more confident, and I love the new shape. As you can see from the photos, one nipple looks to be offset from the other, but I'll give it a good 4-6 months before I look into changing anything!

Week 4

Quick update, I changed my tape out yesterday and everything looks closed/healing nicely! I have some stitching poking out on either side of my ribs (Dr explained that is normal, there might be too much stitch there for the body to absorb so they get pushed out)
It’s WEIRD having boobs that don’t flop. I’m still moving rather gingerly with them, treating them little they’ll fall off LOL BUT I’ve been taking my bra off a bit and WOW!!! This is wild. They just sit up like that on their own. I don’t reach down and “rearrange” them in my shirt or bra. They don’t sit on my stomach if I haunch over, they don’t ‘prop me up’ if I lay on my side. It’s wild. 10/10.

Week 3!

I got cleared to exercise!! Ratliff recommended no jumping/bouncing/running or chest workouts- like bench press. I did bike sprints this morning and some ab exercises and I feel great! He warned that the scars would probably hurt more with exercise- because of the swelling/aggravation, so I’m aware that may start happening as I continue to workout.
I can feel some bumps on either end of the underside scars, Ratliff explained thats where the stitching is tied off and it should dissolve.
He also explained that the pains I am feeling are normal healing pains! They’re never intense, mostly to the touch. It’s just nice to be reassured that it’s not because I'm doing something wrong.
Lastly, some darker areas at the “T” zones where the stitches intersect, and a small scab on one nipple. But they aren’t raw or open, so healing well!
I’m keeping micropore tape on for the next 3 weeks! Every 5 days I removed the tape, shower, and then retape!

Hi you look amazing! My lift is this coming Friday and this helps so much because I have similar breast shape before. I’m so anxious though. Guess it’s normal. Question, did your doc tell you no caffeine? Mine did and I started today but I having major withdrawals nausea vomiting and headache. :(

Thank you!! I hope you’re excited, it’s truly the best decision I could have made for myself. The last week before feels like an eternity! My doc never said anything like that! I wasn’t given any dietary restrictions, besides drugs/alcohol/and some herbs! I would call the office and ask about it! They should give you good advice!

Wow you look amazing. You're are healing so beautifully. I'm so excited to be following your journey things are looking really good.
I wanted to ask, when did your doctor give you the okay to shower? And do you shower while wearing the micropore tape?
Thank you and happy healing.

Wow thank you so much!! It feels so good, and comments like this make it even better!
The dr okayed me to shower after 48 hours! I’ll be honest, I think I waited 72ish before I did. It was a little scary to shower with the steristrips on right after surgery. And it hurt a bit too. Just make sure to dry the tape thoroughly with a blow dryer on low or something. After the first week the steri strips came off and I am on micropore tape for 5 days at a time. I shower between those days with the tape on, then blow dry after the shower. After 5 days I take the tape off, shower once with the scars exposed (I’m still using antibacterial soap but the dr didn’t specify what to use) dry the scars, and put the tape back on for 5 more days. When I went for my last appointment the dr didn’t even remove the tape since I had just placed it the day before- it works best if you leave them covered as long as possible! Showering is a bit awkward still, both with the tape and not. It doesn’t hurt anymore, but I feel very vulnerable each time.

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed answer. I'm definitely going to take this into account when I decide to go through with my breast lift. I live in Miami, but I might fly out to California for my surgery. I'm not completely sure, still looking for a doctor that I trust. We appreciate you sharing your journey with us, and I cannot wait to see your final results. Happy healing!

Thank you so much!! I wish you the best in your research and on your journey! I think it’s smart to shop around, I did too. I will say I follow Dr Ghavami in LA on Instagram and his work is craaazy good.
