Breast lift left lengths and widths uneven & left nipple points laterally

ORIGINAL POST

Mastopexy Nightmare. Keep Searching for a Surgeon

Some may consider this a story of whoa and buyer’s remorse and there is some truth to that. But after working 200 hours of overtime, being away from my husband and two little boys to earn the $6100.00 to pay for this less than desirable outcome, I think it maybe its warranted.
After having two children, it was safe to say that I was no longer happy with the way my body looked. Trust me I did not take my decision lightly. My breasts are deflated, uneven, asymmetrical, and just plain worn out. They need help. After months of research, I thought I had found the perfect provider to help me create my new appearance but, in hindsight, I have never been more wrong. I made an appt for a consult at ADVANCED SURGICAL ARTS CENTER with the intent of getting a breast lift and implants to be able to love my breasts again. This surgeon advised against the lift/ implants at the same time explaining that it would be too much stress on my lift incisions with the weight of an implant and would give me less than desirable results. So, I agreed to have a breast lift and a R reduction to fix asymmetry the first round and implants at a later date with a 2nd surgery. I wasn’t thrilled about 2 surgeries but, I understood why it was necessary. Onward with the 1st round. Post op day 3: when I removed my bandages as instructed, I knew something was wrong as my breasts were still two different sizes. Both lengths and widths were uneven and still asymmetrical and my left nipple now points laterally. My jaw dropped and tears began to flow. I voiced my concerns at my one-month post op where it was brushed off stating that I had a lot of healing to do. At my three-month post op, she agreed that there was improvement to be had stating I would need a revision that would cost me more money. She was UNSURE HOW TO FIX IT but, now and low and behold, I could have both the revision and the implants done together during the second surgery. So…..what changed? Now its ok to put an implant on a fresh incision at a 2nd surgery?? I explained that I was not satisfied with the outcome and requested a refund (in which was declined) and instead I was emailed pictures of the before and after telling me to appreciate the drastic improvement and that I should get a second opinion if I wasn’t happy so, I did. The second surgeon provided literature that states when measuring inframammary fold(IMF) to nipple, it needs to be 6cm or less. Anything more than 6cm would need a lift prior to augmentation. When I started this process my IMF measurements were 11cm and 11.5cm. At my three month post op I measured 9cm and 9.5cm. If my math is correct, that is only a 2cm lift and nowhere close to the 5.5cm more that was needed to be a successful lift per surgical literature. The attempt to anchor my left breast was unsuccessful and would need to be anchored once again, as it is freely moveable. Not to mention my L nipple is pointing the wrong way now. This 2nd opinion surgeon refused to do an augmentation on me in the current condition my breasts are in without a PROPER lift first. I now have to pay ANOTHER $6000 to have A SECOND lift done correctly. The embarrassment that I feel with what I have been left to live with has caused mental stress that is unmeasurable. Having your husband see the aftereffects and what its done to my confidence is gut-wrenching. The only thing that ADVANCED SURGICAL ARTS CENTER has successfully done is further damage my self-esteem and leave me feeling disfigured. So ladies I leave you with this, whether you work hard for your money or not, and whether you’re trying to rebuild your self-esteem or not, but you want to make improvements to your appearance, don’t go to ADVANCED SURGICAL ARTS CENTER. They don’t stand behind their work, repair their mistakes without additional charges because their mistakes are the patients problem, or offer any type of refund for a clear botch job. They only offer a statement that you should be happy with the drastic change. Not only will I not be recommending their services to anyone, but I will make it my life’s work to protect any women from having the same thing happen to them.
