Unconsented Scars

ORIGINAL POST

Unconsented Scars

I did tummy tuck and breast lift with Dr. Restifo. I was nervous about breast lift so actually saw him twice to understand what scars/shape to expect etc. He never once told me about these extra side scars on my breast during consultation. If he had I would have absolutely never done it, but now I have to live with it. I lost all that weight to be able to wear anything but now I am having difficulty finding a swim suit that wouldn't show the scar since one side is too high up, and I can forget about backless/lowcut dresses. I am single and absolutely horrified to date with this scar. I am totally devastated and live in anxiety and regret everyday!

Omg..I'm so sorry.. did he say why they extended that far?
To prevent dog ears, but that he knew before the surgery but never once told me about the possibility. I would have never done it if he did.
If you're breast were wide before or you had loose skin from weight loss, he likely extended to make sure you have no dog ears.
Sure, but how come he never told me before hand to even expect it? I scheduled a 2nd consultation with him only so I understand fully what to expect. I was on the fence about it to begin with and would have literally never done it if he mentioned once that there is possibility of dog ears and scar may need to be extended. I am a real person who now has to live these scars I didn't consent to, not a practice dummy he could just cut up any way he wanted. I am truly devastated.
Dermablend will cover that, or any other body makeup!
Often times that scar is so you're not left with dog ears on the side of your armpits. That's actually much worse. Scars will fade. I suggest using bio oil, silicone, scar gel, and silicone scar strips at night
I know it's to prevent dog ears. But that he knew before the surgery. If he had told me I would have never done it.
