Amazing Results
I originally had a consultation with Dr restifo for a breast lift in 2019 but did not go through with it because of nerves. Then covid hit and I had to wait a couple of years. Finally went in for my surgery on August 25, 2022. Doctor restifo is very soft spoken but thorough, Jackie his nurse is amazing and Marie who scheduled my surgery was great. She was able to move my surgery date up to accommodate me going on vacation. Everyone at the surgery center was great and it was clean and comfortable. I was not nervous on the day of the surgery, just excited and everything went smoothly. I had a right breast reduction and bilateral breast lift with galaflex.
When I awoke from surgery I did have some nausea and vomiting but I attributed it that to the pain medication and not having any food in my stomach. I did not have any further nausea or vomiting after leaving the surgery center. I had an Ace wrap wrapped around me that they made look like a cute top. I did have drains when I came home which doctor restifo informed me beforehand I would have due to having the galaflex. I was Sent home with antibiotics and pain medication but the only pain medication I took throughout the whole recovery was Tylenol and only sporadically for about 3 days. I wasn't In a lot of pain due to the surgery but every day the Ace wrap that was wrapped around me became tighter. I text the office and they instructed me to cut the Ace wrap up the sides which helped tremendously. Also the drains were stuck in my sides and caused some blisters and wounds so just be mindful of the drains if you get any.
My Surgery was on a Thursday and my follow up appointment was The following Monday with Jackie. The ace wrap was removed as well as the drains and I got to see for the 1st time my amazing new boobs. Dr restifo uses tegaderm to assist with supporting the incisions which stayed on this visit. Follow up was in another week with Dr Restifo and Jackie. They teach you the process of changing the tegaderm. After about a month I noticed the Tegaderm began to irritate me and my nipples were swollen and sore everytime I took it off and I was spitting a lot of sutures. I ended up with a few open areas. I sent Jackie and email and had a response in 10 minutes. Jackie asked me to send a pic and instructed me to leave the tegaderm off until the areas healed.
A couple of days later, Of course it would be a Friday night, I noticed some redness and pus like drainage from one of the open areas. I just so happened to have antibiotics at home which I took on my own and by Monday the drainage had stopped (im a nurse so I know the routine). The area dried and I noticed my breast felt better without the tegaderm on so I stopped using it on my own without any issues. My incisions healed up amazingly. The only thing I am using is pure african shea butter. I would have to say the most discomfort I had was the stinging, shooting sensations from the nerves regenerating. They happen at the most inconvenient times and it's just very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, pain medication doesn't help with that.
I am 11 weeks post op and things are going great. I still have some discomfort at times if pressure is applied to my breast (for example a tight hug) and it's a little uncomfortable sleeping on my side sometimes but nothing i need to take any medication for, but other than that I have had no issues. Dr Restifo and his staff have been amazing every step of the way and my only regret is that I didn't go through with it sooner, but i guess everything happens in it's own time! If you are considering a BL definitely consider a consult with Dr Restifo!
