My results are nice now but the experience was so stressful

Breast Lift

I had a breast lift done with Dr. Salih Onur Basat on 7/31/23.
My pre-op blood work and intake at BHT clinic went smoothly, the young women who assisted me with paperwork were nice. On the morning of my surgery, I waited 3 hours in my room, in a gown, having never met the doctor. When he finally did arrive, he came in with a backpack, appearing as if he had arrived directly from his commute. He immediately opened my gown and began to draw on my breasts with no apparent hand washing, no manners, barely an introduction, let alone a consultation. He informed me of what he would perform on me and made no acknowledgment of my requests. Within the hour of his drawings on me, I was in surgery. Surgery lasted about 3 hours. I woke up from anesthesia easily, but feeling distinct pain and pressure on my chest. I called out to any near by nurses, I asked them for pain medication, I said repeatedly “I’m in pain, please help.” Unfortunately the first 4 or 5 times that I asked for assistance, I was ignored. Finally, after asking an additional 1-2 times and 15-20 minutes of waiting, a man came and gave me an undisclosed shot in my upper arm. The pain decreased, then I was taken back to my individual room. I had not eaten or had any water at this point for about 15 hours and I was very thirsty. I then laid in my room for 3 hours, I was checked on twice during this time and both times I asked for water. At 5 hours post op, I still had not been given any water, nor food. I wasn’t throwing up, I was just laying in bed, so I don’t know why I wasn’t given any hydration, no nurse ever explained. I pressed the call button, a nurse came 35 minutes later, I asked her for water again, she did not return. I was so desperate for water by this point and had no IV, so I got myself out of bed, I exited my room to find a completely empty hallway. I made my way to an elevator, found a directory, found the cafeteria and bought myself a bottle of water.
I slept in BHT clinic that night, it was an unpleasant experience. I was given a bowl of off-white, thick, tasteless liquid for dinner, at about 10 hours post op. The nurses were minimally attentive and when I received fruit for breakfast, they demanded cash. The doctor looked at me quickly during the morning after surgery and I was discharged with the driver Mustafa, who took me to the hotel.
I was given a bag of medication, 2 painkillers, one of which was similar to ibuprofen and no antibiotic. When I requested an antibiotic from the doctors team (Eva) I was dropped off one, one that I am severely allergic to. This allergy was listed everywhere on my paperwork and was reiterated via text consistently. Then the team had to replace the antibiotic, that took an additional 6 hours and the currier of the antibiotics again demonstrated that he expected to be paid. The following day, a nurse came to the hotel, she opened my surgical bra, squeezed my breasts with unwashed, ungloved hands, then she left and I as never visited again.
On day 3 or 4 post op, I went back to BHT clinic for a check up from the doctor and to receive, at my request, lip filler and Botox. I was supposed to receive this before the surgery, but that didn’t happen, I had already paid them cash, so despite not feeling so great post op, I got the treatment. The “checking” done by Dr. Basat consisted of him looking at my breasts for 5-10 seconds and then closing my bra. No one ever, during this entire process, cleaned my incisions, changed dressings, or informed me about aftercare. The filler and Botox experience was bizarre, my entire face was smeared with a numbing solution that got all over my hair, I bled a lot, I was told that my skin was very thick and that this was why I was bleeding so much it was running into my eyes. I was roughly cleaned up, charged way more money than was previously disclosed and sent on my way.
My results are nice now, I’m glad I had the surgery, but the experience was so stressful. There were problems every day of my stay, Eva had not booked my reservation at the hotel when I arrived from the airport, I had to wait, more money was demanded. My luggage was lost, Eva and Mustafa were entirely unwilling to help me find the luggage, if even just to make a call for me, considering I can’t speak Turkish, but they didn’t help. The hotel they use is located between a walled-off highway and a 4 lane road. It’s a completely unwalkable area, very far from tourist locations, so drivers must be used for everything. The doctors team, Eva and April, are outwardly pleasant, they will call you names such a “dear”, but they will try to talk you into additional procedures, they will make odd comments about your looks and how they could be improved by the doctor, they will ask you for more money at the last minute, in cash, to be paid immediately. They are both slow to provide assistance and quick to respond with a harsh and unprofessional attitude if you complain about anything.
So to surmise, yes you will get your surgery. Let’s hope the results are good, because absolutely nothing about the rest of the experience with Dr. Basat or his team will be sufficiently professional or pleasant. Don’t forget, you will have to sort out your own aftercare/wound care, at additional expense, because they don’t provide any of that.
I know there are elements of my poor experience that could have been improved by me. For one, I could have chosen a different surgeon. I could have chosen not to get filler and Botox, I could have planned better to have a companion with me, who could have cared for me and been my advocate. Unfortunately I was inexperienced with cosmetic procedures and I found myself in a situation that was entirely different to the one described to me by the surgical team.
I’m sure I will receive a message following this review, threatening me, attempting to defame me, as this is the practice of Dr. Basat’s team when faced with criticism.
Fair warning.

I'm sorry for all that you went thru, it's crazy. The results looks very good on the pictures. Do you have any pre-op picture to share?
That's totally unacceptable by today's standards and I feel soo badly for what you went through. It shouldn't matter whether you are experienced or not you were not treated with dignity and compassion or care, much less cleanliness. I'm very spirited you didn't get an infection. That's disgusting touching you without washing their hands or masking up. I understand what you went through with feeling the pressure to do "more" because of their ill advised and unasked for comments on your appearance. They took advantage of your vulnerability. Shame on each and everyone who took part in your effort to change something that affected your daily life and the way you felt about yourself.
