Mangled Right Boob and Failed BBL

I have really dreaded the thought of leaving a review for some years now. I’m not sure why it was so hard for me to talk about but I’m finally in a space where I’m ready to talk about my experience. In April of 2021, I underwent surgery with Dr. LoMonaco for a breast lift and bbl. Originally, I asked if I could do a lift with implants, but Dr. LoMonaco stated that it would be too risky because of the size of my breasts. For the bbl, I asked Dr. LoMonaco if he could lipo my back and sides because I did not want to undergo a tummy tuck. I also informed Dr. LoMonaco that I had one previous surgical procedure (which was liposuction to my lower back) in 2011. He stated that this was fine and he could perform the same procedure with the addition of adding the fat to my buttocks this time. Before surgery Dr. LoMonaco was very communicative and displayed good bedside manners. I was VERY afraid of what the breast lift scar would like after surgery, but I was willing to see it through because my breast were a size H after having my two children. Unfortunately, my worst nightmare came to fruition after having my surgery. The experience at the hospital was very unpleasant and it took me awhile to snap out of sleep and wake up enough to leave the hospital. (yes, they make you leave immediately after surgery). The pain was excruciating, but I had lipo before and knew this would be a factor. However, what I did not expect was to have a double boob on my right side. I immediately noticed this after getting home and removing the bandage for changing. When I contacted Dr. LoMonaco about this, he insisted that I wait for the swelling to go down so he can see if it goes away. It was clearly something that had nothing to do with swelling but we waited. And sure enough, it turns out I had a double boob on my right side. I also expressed disappointment that my bbl was not noticeable whatsoever and Dr. LoMonaco stated that it’s was because I had a lot of scar tissue on my backside (because of my previous lipo job) and as a result he could not retrieve much fat. He also stated that I would be reimbursed for this portion of the surgery if no changes were visible after the swelling subsided. Of course, this was never honored or acknowledged after the swelling subsided. It was very clear that no changes were actually visible. A few months after my surgery, Dr, LoMonaco stated that he could “fix” the double boob on my right side with an in patient procedure in his office. I should’ve gone with my gut and found a different doctor to redo the lift, but I did not have the money for this option. I decided to let Dr. LoMonaco do this procedure because I honestly could not stand the look of the double boob on my right side. This was a terrible decision that still haunts me till this day. The procedure was done in his office with a nurse practitioner and Dr. LoMonaco. The nurse (who was very friendly) administered the anesthesia to my right boob…keep in mind I am awake the entire time. To get the area numb enough, she had to stick me at least 17 times with a very long needle. It was not pleasant. After she administered the anesthesia, Dr. LoMonaco proceeded to cut off the double boob with a surgical knife and scissors, and then sew the exposed area. I could not feel much pain, but I could feel the meat being cut from my boob. It was an indescribable feeling. I literally have no words to express what it felt like. Long story short, this left my right boob mangled and deformed. Every time I look in the mirror I hold back tears when I look at my breasts. My dreams of having a decent sized butt and perky boobs are but a figment of my imagination now. I workout at least four days a week and this has actually helped me come to terms with the failed bbl part. However, I have seen several doctors regarding a revision and each one has stated that I would need reconstructive surgery to fix my breasts. I haven’t seen an estimate yet for less than $18,000 for this surgery. I really feel defeated and like I should’ve vetted more doctors before landing on Dr. LoMonaco. I would encourage anyone who is considering going with this doctor to do more research.
