I am scheduled for a breast lift with implants with Dr. Christine Rodgers on August 10 and hope to track my journey and both help an learn from others. I had my daughter when I was 15 and my son when I was 18 (whom I am so thankful to have in my life!) since then I knew I wold work hard, become a successful professional and as a gift to myself I wanted to restore my youthful breasts I lost so long ago. Now, just before I turn 30, it’s finally time! These babies are paid in full and I couldn’t be more excited to feel good in low cut shirts, swim suits and dresses!!

Hello!!! Welcome!! How exciting that you are going to have your breasts done. Its a wonderful gift to give to yourself. Its a wonderful journey. I learned so much from this site, and it was helpful before surgery, and after my surgery. Looking forward to following your journey. :)

One week out!

I’ve gone to pre-op, got everything ready and we’re one week out. I’m so excited! We didn’t pick a ‘size’ of implant. I told Dr Rodgers I wanted them somewhat larger, but I mostly want a ‘perfect shape’ with smaller nipples and some upper pole fullness.

Good luck your upcoming surgery! You mentioned you haven’t picked implant size, but just told your PS what you wanted to be “a little larger” with smaller areolas. Did you bring wish pics? If you don’t mind my two cents on the subject: sometimes it’s a good idea to try on sizers before hand just to insure that both you and your PS agree on what “being a little larger” means. Just mentioning this because I made the mistake of telling a prior PS the same exact thing “just a little larger” and I ended up twice the size I wanted to be. Lol. My last surgery was to downsize my implants along with a lift. This time I made sure that my PS and I were reading from the same page so to speak. This time I also discussed desired shape (i.e. 45:55 upper to lower pole ratio) and areola size (38mm) in detail. Google “45:55 UK ideal breast shape study“ and “ideal areola size” for interesting articles and studies on the subject. You don’t necessarily have to agree with the findings, but reading articles/studies is a good way to learn the proper terminology. Imo the more details/info using scientific terminology you can give your PS (along with wish pics) the better chances are you’ll end up with the results you want. Wishing you the best! :-)

Thanks for your comment! I did write out an email of ‘goals’ for my procedure with picture examples (both of what I liked and didn’t like) that I sent to my PS to make sure there was no chance of miscommunication. It’s funny you mention the 45:55 ratio as what I listed in my goals is essentially exactly that! Haha, I said I prefer slightly upturned nipples, a little upper pole fullness, but not spherical breasts, and more lower pole fullness.

Yes the “ideal” angle (i.e. upturn) on the nipple for many is a 20° angle. One thing to know (in case you’re not aware) is don’t expect to have the “ideal” shape coming right out of surgery. Due to the fact that implants drop/fluff the PS has to make adjustments for this... so you may start with a little more upper pole than you expected. Getting the perfect shape is definitely an art combined with science. Good luck and wishing you the best!
