Scar Away

I like tapes or silicone sheeting over gels. It is a mind thing. I do not have any allergies to my knowledge but my first day back to work as a PACU nurse O decided to use the scar away sheets with a good fitting, compression providing, sports bra. OMG!!!!!
The rash and hives that appeared over my entire chest were unbelievable. I hold not make it through my 12 hour work shift. I removed the tapes, cleaned well with mild soap and water, took Benadryl around the clock, and has to use hydrocortisone for the itching. It was so intense and everything was red and swollen. Disturbing. I just assume it is the adhesive in Scar Away that my body does not agree with :-(

Some improvement

So I was really worried about the pigmentation of my areolas. It is improving slowly but surely as tings heal. I am having some some delayed healing at the T junction in the inframammary crease and at the bottom of the areola. So I am not placing silicone in any form in those areas. I am cleaning the areas with mild soap and water, and applying polysporin twice a day.
For scarring I have silagen silicone gel and mepitac silicone tape, as well as Scar Away strips. I am a product junkie unfortunately. I am only applying silicone to ya vertical incisions since they are healed well. I am never sure when the Silagen gel is dry enough but I massage it in. I have not used the Scar Away sheets. They are like $9.99 for four sheets at WalMart and $23.99 at CVS pharmacy. I prefer sheeting. I am sure it is psychological. It feels like the Mepitac tape provides cushioning or support.

Concerns

I have pretty much has all stitches removed except some around areola. When stitches were removed steri strips, using mastisol, was then placed. My steri strips will not stay on. I am not getting them wet.
I have reinforced them and that did not work. I have accepted changing them daily. So as I was gently removing the strips that had mostly come off, scabs, and junk came off. I cleaned the areas and applied polysporin.
I see the PS Friday. He wants to talk scar therapy and silicone, but I am not worried about that now. I want my incisions to heal well, and my pigmentation come back.
I also feel that my breast each have a different shape. It is two shapes that I like, but I wish they resembled more. I know I need time and to be patient. The left implant is much higher than the right. The right breast was bigger before, and required more lifting, and has a small implant. The left has a larger implant at 365 cc.
I am not happy this week. I know it will get better. I still have discomfort, and my nipples are sore. Muscle spasms trouble me the worse, but I am not taking pain meds. I am still using ice packs intermittently for comfort. If I am very busy dustheap day, they swell a bit. I am wearing spots bras with a loose enough band 24/7. I have every brand you can think of because I went to Ross, Victoria’s Secret, and purchased through amazon.
I need good news or to just chill and be patient.

Provider Review

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

THIS IS A BEFORE SURGERY EVALUATION He is very kind, patient, and soft spoken. He has set realistic expectations for me, and given worse case scenarios. I require that information. He is thorough. He is confident, but not arrogant and condescending. The staff are all very nice. I like he office and location. His OR is in office.
