Powerlifting Mum of 2. Lift and Augmentation Plus Mini Tummy Tuck to Repair Muscles
$12,295
Ok so Ive been a lurker for 4 years. Ive finally decided to take the plunge. I will document my experience for anyone who may relate to my circumstances and find my blog of any help to them.
Back Story
2 boys 23 months apart now aged 8 and 6. Both Breastfed. Boobs before pregnancy were 32DD weighed approx 150lbs
After pregnancy I started weightlifting eventually competing in powerlifting (still am). Current weight 125lbs quite muscular.
Ive wanted a lift/augmentation for so long now. 4 years ago I went for a consult at MYA in London. I didnt get a good feel from them and was quoted £7.5k for lift and implants. Anyway I walked away from the appointment more deflated than my post baby boobies as at the time that was out of my budget.
Over the next 4 years as Ive got leaner the boob issue has played more and more on my mind as I now have pecs with some empty saggy skin hanging from them. In a bra and with clothes on i like how I look, but once theyre not in a bra im incredibly self concious about them.
For the past year Ive really researched using this site to find the surgeon I have finally decided to use.
I booked an initial consultation with Mr Durrant, waited for a few months for that to come around eventually seeing him early early June 2018.
We discussed the powerlifting which meant if I wanted to carry on (which I do) then an over muscle implant would be needed to stop the implant being displaced while bench pressing. Also as i have very little tissue a gummy bear implant would need to be used to stop any rippling, we discussed possible future fat transfer if eventually any rippling did happen. After measuring my frame he decided a 300cc would be the smallest implant he would place in me. I would also need a lollipop lift. This would bring me to a size C which is the size I was wanting. He took real life scans of my boobs and after the appointment he sent me what they would look like with the implants in
I also asked him if he could repair my stomach muscles as i has a 2 inch gap in my lower abdomen where they didnt knit back together after having my boys. The NHS said I was too young to have this repaired incase i wanted more kids. I do not and im not prepared to wait until they say im "old" enough! He said this was doable via a mini tummy tuck as i didnt have enough lose skin for a full one.
I walked away feeling happy with my choice of surgeon.
Over the next week any questions i had i shot an email over to his secretary who is very helpful and accomodating.
I had originally planned for the op in August after my next comp which gave me enough time to recover before the national comps in 2019. However an injury put me out of training for a bit so I took this as a sign and brought my plan forward. I emailed his secretary asking what was the closest date availavle and was told 5th July. Which also worked out well for having time off of work too. So I booked in.

Before pics 6 days till surgery
Ok so I had a panic this week about sizing and overall look we could achieve and asked to see my surgeon again just to run through everything.
He was more than happy to see me and booked me in. We ran through everything again. He re measured me to check sizes and we agreed the same size as what we originally said was the right size.
I felt silly worrying but i guess he see's it all the time with patients after all its a big change!
I go from nervous to excited back to nervous again. Just want it over and done with now. Have a feeling these last few days are going to drag

Hi there, choosing size is one of the hardest decisions to make before surgery. I also had a BL/BA so I understand what you’re going through. Do you mind sharing what size you finally decided to go with? I also have “overs”. There seem to be very few of us around here with overs. Good luck and wishing you the best! :-)

Hi!! First,,,I gotta tell you: You have a very beautiful, and toned body. What you are feeling is completely normal. I think we all feel nervous, and excited before the surgery. The emotions swing back and forth. Its OK,,,its part of the journey. One of the biggest decisions we all face is: Picking the right size. You don't want to go to big,,,,,and feel top heavy. You don't want to go to small, and suffer from "boob greed". Your surgeon seems very thorough, and very professional. A good surgeon IS happy to keep talking to his/her patients to make sure they are comfortable before making such a big decision. Do not feel silly about worrying. Every patient worries that they are making the right decision with the surgery overall, and the size they pick. So, are you going with the 300CC implants over the muscle?? I think its sounds like a great choice for you. This site helped me SO much before surgery, and during my healing process. I hope that you have an amazing experience, and hope that you will share it with us. Take good care of yourself these last few days before surgery. Make sure you get enough rest. Try to prepare everything in advance (meds, your recovery area, meals if possible). The first few days of recovery are the hardest. After that, its just being patient, and waiting for your boobs to drop/fluff, and fully heal. Embrace all the crazy emotions,,,,its part of the ride. :) Take care, and I look forward to following your progress!! :)

Hello from the other side
Had surgery Thursday so this is an update of how the proceedure went and coming home.
Usual protocol, no food after 7am and no liquids after 11am. I was told to come in for 12pm. Was seen by aneasthestist and then by Mr Durrant who drew all over me asked if i had any other questions etc. Was told I was 2nd on the list which meant I was looking at 5pm. I felt like crying I was soooooo hungry and now had to wait 4 more hours :'( although i was allowed some more water for the time being. Which I was grateful for in this 30° heat!
5pm finally came! That was a nervous wait, wondering if I was doing the right thing, was I just being vain. Would I die and leave my 2 kids without a mama. The mind plays tricks on you! Well mine did anyway
The nurse and I walked down to theatre. I said goodbye to my mum and entered the room. Was asked to get on the bed. A cannula was put in and a mask rest on my face.
The next thing I know i wake up breifly in recovery, then wake up again in my room
I dont rememeber much as it was now 10.30 in the eve and I was still a little high. I just wanted food so I had an egg sandwhich which i had ordered earier in the day but I asked for more and they came up with some more sandwiches which I was so thankful for!!
An un eventful night, i managed to sleep on and off probably a few hour naps at a time. Its quite hard to sleep propped up.
Next morning the aneasthestist came in and said I had worried him. Immediately i asked why has something gone wrong! He replied no I thin i may have slightly overcooked you.
He hadnt taken into account that I dont drink much due to my sport and i was more susceptible to the anaesthetic and i had gone under immediatly.
I had been up and walking around all morning.
I really thought recovery was going to be much harder than this
I had a look at the boobs... now im panicking
The area between them where the sternum is the skin is taut across. Like a tent! I have no cleavage just what looks like a giant tent / uniboob
Mr Durrant came in to discharge me i raised my concerns about this but am assured its just swelling and will reduce over the next few weeks.
Saw the pharmacist who gave me paracetamol ibuprofen and codeine to take home for pain relief and off I went.
Back home in my own house for 10am friday morning.
