Lift with implants

Day 9

WORTH IT$10,000
Not much change from yesterday... got a refill on my pain meds but they make me too tired so I opted for the tylonel instead and as long as I don’t over do it I’m okay. Today I laid in bed and slept most of the day as I felt my body needed it, especially since I’m having a hard time sleeping at night. Swelling and soreness is definitely worse at night.
I didn’t expect to need so much help for so long. I was told not to lift anything over 10 lbs for at least 3 weeks. My one year old is 30 lbs so thankfully between my husband, daycare, and my mother it hasn’t been too hard. Just mostly preparing dinner for the kids and needing help with baths and bedtime. Lifting into and out of high chair, crib, tub I need help with and I can barely pour some milk for my son out of a full gallon.
Ugh! Frustrated but trying to push through. Really hope the swelling starts to go down soon because that’s mostly what’s bothering me.

Went back to work today, definitely over did it. Will be back in bed tomorrow resting. Switched to just tylonel after running out of the pain meds and it’s really not helping at all. ???? it’s been an emotional roller coaster especially not being able to pick up my two young kids. Implants went under the muscle and my one muscle is still swollen much higher than the other. But I’ve been told that’s normal and will go down over time. Hopefully the next few days will get a little easier.

Congrats on your surgery! And thanks for sharing your story. I also had a BL/BA, so I know what you’re going through. So true about the healing process being an emotional roller coaster. If you’re still in a lot of discomfort you should ask your PS for a refill on your pain meds, imo. Good luck and wishing you the best!

Update

I’m 6 days post op now! I’m starting to feel a little better day by day. The toughest part for me has been the tightness of the muscle because my implants went under the muscle. Luckily the muscle relaxers help with this but they do make me very sleepy. Overall so far I’m very happy with my decision and how smoothly everything went. I get the rest of the tape off in another two weeks.
