Considered a lift & implants for years, after battling with (and winning against!) eating disorders through puberty & 20’s my body gained & lost a lot of weight, because of this my chest fluctuated several sizes before I was even 21. I haven’t been the happiest with my chest, ever. It took me a while to accept my body & heal my relationship with it before I felt ready to do this!At 26 (no children) I decided to really look into it & began researching + educating myself on the operation after healing & getting healthy. I’m thankful for RealSelf to be able to gain a realistic mindset on the surgery itself, healing process + timeline, even what can go wrong. Almost every review I’ve seen here, women mention how happy they are they’ve done it. I found my chosen surgeon through here & I’m very excited for the 15th.My consult went well, Dr. McCormack answered every question & concern I had; most even before I was able to ask. We used the Vectra machine to augment the look I wanted, and landed on 385cc Natrelle Silicone Implants. I am leaning towards trying 400cc again during my upcoming pre-op appointment on the 14th, but could be on the edge of “too large”. I’ve included pictures of my current chest & vectra imaging. Updates to come!

Surgery this Morning!

A nurse gave me a call in the AM right before I woke up, asking if I could come in sooner because of a cancellation (duh!)
Dr McCormacks office & surgery center are beautiful. I felt super comfortable & trusted all of her team. Everyone working my surgery came in to speak to me in pre-op, which was really nice.
It was over before I knew it! The pain isn’t major right now, just a lot of pressure in my chest; makes sense :)
Post-Op appointment tomorrow!

Almost 1 week! Getting better day by day, it’s definitely uncomfortable, probably more than I anticipated. I am just now able to sort of open doors, move around easier, literally do anything! I’m relying on my fiancé for a lot of help, I couldn’t imagine doing it alone! The first 4 days were the hardest so far. I check my gauze and incisions every morning & night- just a few spots of bleeding around my left areola but that’s stopped.
It’s an odd feeling, all the muscle + skin stretching over it made it difficult to breathe deeply for a bit. My posture will need HELP soon, it kind of pulls you inward.
I was prescribed 650mg Tylenol, celebrex, cyclobenzaprine & gabapentin. I don’t love how the gabapentin and cyclobenzaprine make me feel, so I take them (staggered) in the evening. I’m feeling like everything is going well & am looking forward to the steritape coming off.

It's a marathon not a sprint! Slow and steady wins the race so take it as easy as you can. Glad to hear you're on the mend, so happy for you!
