Botched Breast Job

I thought I chose the right doctor for my procedure but going to Dr. Marcos Soto was the worst decision I ever made. I had no qualms about going to the Dominican Republic for surgery, as I went in 2015 to for a tummy tuck and a bbl with another doctor. I decided that I now wanted my breast done. I knew I needed a breast lift and I want to have a breast augmentation as well. I searched around for Dr.’s in Miami first, but for what they were charging, I could get a breast lift and breast augmentation with 360 lipo and fat transfer for the same price, so I thought why not going back to the Dominican Republic. Scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled across his Instagram page. As I scrolled through his pictures, his breast lifts looked so good, so I did some research on him and he is a board certified reconstructive surgeon, and he had 5 star reviews on RealSelf, although there were not many, that still made me feel even more comfortable that he would be able to perform my breast lift with breast augmentation with no problem. Now I must admit I was not the most knowledgeable person on breast operations and my ignorance was my downfall. All the pictures on his Instagram were right after surgery, so of course they all looked good, and they were of the women lying down on the table, but as I have found out, your breast change from 3-6 months after surgery, but try finding any of those pictures posted on his Instagram page of women 3-6 months standing or even sitting upright after a breast surgery, especially any of breast lift with breast augmentation.I scheduled my surgery for June 2018. He had a nice modern office in the clinic and his secretary  is a joy. I go into his office to start our consultation, I wanted a breast lift with breast augmentation and 360 lipo and lipo of the inner thighs and arms. He said this could all be done, and just asked what size implant I wanted, and I really don’t know sizes, but I told him to keep me the size I was. I left his office and I didn’t see him again until the day of the surgery. The day of surgery was fine, I had no issues, did not wake up during the surgery, and did not need any blood transfusions. I did not know that at the Clinic you must hire a caregiver for the night of your surgery. I didn’t sleep much at all, since my dressing was cutting off circulation since they were so tight, and this was not relived until morning when they changed my dressing before I left. At the Clinic you cannot leave until your doctor comes to sign you out, once Dr. Marcos came he shook my hand, said what procedures he was able to do, I couldn’t get the inner thigh and arm lipo, because I was bleeding too much, and before he left he told me my implants were 460CC gummy bear implants and under the muscle, and I received the J scar lift and this was the last time I ever saw him.  I would come to find out later on that my implants were not under the muscle, but over the muscle, so either Dr. Marcos lied about the placement of the implant or he did not perform the surgery himself. There was more pain from the lipo than from the breast lift and augmentation. My follow up appointments, I was only seen by the nurse, Dr. Marcos was never there. Once I returned to the states, that is when everything went downhill. I had a lot of spitting stitches around my areolas, which he left the same size, and not making smaller like most American doctors. I whatsapped them a picture of the stitches coming out from around the areolas and they just said they are dissolvable. Well dissolvable stitches don’t dissolve outside the body. I ended up cutting and taking out many of the stitches myself or my openings would have never closed. 2 months after my surgery I am still wearing dressing s to cover my areolas because they still have not healed. During this time I noticed that my breast started to drop, but they seemed to be dropping lower than they should, and I started to notice that my left breast was hanging much lower than the right, and I had fat necrosis in both breasts, and this is when I knew this was a botched job. Uneven breasts, areolas still not fully healed, and hanging as if they were never really even lifted. I decided to get my breast revised and when I tried to contact his office for my medical records he refused to give them to me, and said my surgeon would have to contact Clinic, which they did, but Clinic never released my records. So what is the purpose of Dr. Marcos having patient’s records, if they cannot release them to the patients, so hope and pray you don’t need these records, because you will not receive them from Dr. Marcos or Clinic.
