Post Operative Care frustrations

WORTH IT$14,000
Care is going well at home, I’m able to start to wean off medications, walking a lot and the nausea is finally going away enough to eat at least one real meal a day. That all being said, I'm going to address a big problem I’ve had hoped not to need to mention considering how much I’ve loved the office and doctor preoperatively. Consult visit and preop the office was over the top emailing, mailing, calling with information galore with FAQs and “what to expects.” They made dang sure I was completely prepared for day of surgery which made me feel so confident in my decision to finally do this. What I’m majorly concerned with is the lack of information I’ve been provided regarding my surgery postoperativly, especially considering the 14 thousand dollars spent on my body modification. After surgery I didn’t not get any paperwork or information (no discharge paperwork, site/ wound care instructions, possible complications and what to look for, or operation summary) I expressed my concern and desire to have these things sent to me via phone the following day (nothing sent), again via email (nothing) and then again in office at my post op appointment about not having gotten any of this information other than the brief memory my anesthesia drugged mind had of the doctor telling me it went “well.” I’ve still, 8 days later have yet to get any information I’ve requested. Each time I’ve brought it up the staff and even the doctor (at the post op visit) seemed appalled that I wasn’t given anything, said that was unheard of and apologized yet still, no one gave me ANYTHING. I tried using the patient portal they offer, but my account is left completely blank besides the information I was required to download prior to my consult visit. I am a medical professional (RN grad in 6 months) so I was able to get myself through the medication regimens, cleaning protocols (was given that in preop) etc, but a lot of the time I was out of it and my fiancé had no idea what was needed and nothing to fall back on. Overall, I’ve find this quite frustrating and almost suspicious (if the results weren’t obviously going so well). I’m a type A info hoe and I don’t even know which exact implants were placed in my body, the profile, the exact CC (I was wanting around 450 going in but was told they’d try out a few to decide which looked best on my frame), what anesthesia was given that made me sick for a week straight, how long surgery lasted or anything. I’ll be reaching out to the office again tomorrow to ask for this again, but no patient should be left so in the dark after surgery, especially one they paid so much for out of pocket.

Great work! Huge difference and they look very good. I'm sorry you had issues with the communication. That should be priority, but a lot of places don't believe in customer service anymore. Keep resting and healing! Can't wait for more after pics to see your progress!

1 week Post op

I had my one week PO appt today which went really well. I did ask for a pain med refill as any bouncing, getting in and out of bed/couch/car is still pretty rough on me. I can lift my arms above my head with little pain so dressing is almost back to normal. Most painful motion is moving things side to side like opening a slider or lifting something slightly behind me. They taught me how to massage the babies and said the bruising around all the incisions was normal. They haven’t came down or “dropped” yet at all and I can’t wait for it. I’m going to try to go back to work (on light duty) tomorrow so we’ll see how that goes.

Forgot to mention here that at day 6 I still had not pooped, which is something they really look out for as it can lead to an impaction and further complications. At this time I was taking a stool softener 3x daily and miralax once a day. Doctor encouraged adding a more intense laxities (can’t remember the name) and increase this. Day 8 I started pooping (yay) but in really small, rock like pieces. Cheers to progress

Post op day 4

Still feeling really tight and sore and the bruising looks worse than it feels. I can definitely tell when I’m trying to lift too much weight and back off. The first shower went well and looking at them was less traumatizing than I was expecting. Been walking a lot but I’m getting antsy to be back to normal and see them when they’re done dropping/fluffing. Went out for new years (didn’t drink on my meds) and no one noticed any difference under clothes. Official post op scheduled here soon
