I wish I had tried this review from the beginning but better late than never. I am 44 and have 2 amazing adult kids to which I breastfed both. My baby is 19 so I’ve had sad saggy boobs for years now. After kids my weight was always a problem. Gain/lose over and over. I have lost 82 lbs now. Let say that did not help the saggy boobs. They were saggy and deflated now. BAD!!
I was a 34D even with the sad boobs. There was just so much extra skin that I had too much for a smaller cup as they would bulge out. In my D they just sank to the bottom and left the top gapped. And when I wore a sports bra..I looked like a 12 year old at the gym. Suckers went flat as a pancake. I always refrained from wearing low cut shirts because there jut wasn’t anything there. Or a swim suit. I just didn’t feel feminine with my socks of rocks so to speak
My husband and I had talked over the years that one day my time would come. He is my biggest supporter. I made the consult and I set my surgery date and haven’t looked back.

Surgery Day and next morning appointment. Scratched my eye at some point. My dang luck!!

Just4me44
So surgery day came so quick. I was so nervous and scared. The thing I was most scared of was losing the feeling in my nipples. I still wasn’t set on a size. The drive down there (2hrs away) my husband and I talked about this the whole way. I tried 450cc sizers in the office and thought that would be the smallest I would go and 550cc would be the max I would go. I didn’t want to go too small but didn’t want to be huge either. Such a hard decision! I got to the PS that morning at 8 am. They called me back about 8:15 to prep me. The nurses were amazing. My anesthesiologist was so nice and promised me to help with my nerves after I spoke with Dr. Hedden. In about 10 mins Dr Hedden came in and we discussed size. I had a couple friends tell me to go a little bigger than I want because they all wished they had went bigger. So I told him 550cc if he thought that would look good. That’s what he wrote on me and done all my markings. When he left I looked at the markings in the mirror and couldn’t believe it was real. I was about to have a lift and implants after years of wishing. About 15 mins later they came and got me for surgery. Perky boobs here I come!
I live 2 hrs from my PS so I had to stay in a hotel just down the road. I don’t remember anything in the recovery room or the ride to the hotel. I remember waking up in the bed at the hotel so sick. I’m the lucky one who gets sooo sick after anesthesia. My chest didn’t hurt as bad as my arms did. My arms were hurting so bad. I kept throwing up my pain meds. It was a rough time for me. My back was killing me from being propped up all day on pillows. I had to get my husband to go buy me a heating pad. It was like heaven to my back. My husband was telling me I needed to walk. Nurses said to walk about 5 mins each hour. I couldn’t for needing to throw up. One that was over and I kept my pain and nausea meds in, I was doing great. Sitting up and talking.
Of course we had to look at the new girls HA! I took my sports bra off and holy cow they are huge! First thing I did was check my nipples. I could feel both!!! I was so relieved. My boobs we so tight. But how weird looking down and seeing something there instead of chest bone. I already loved them. They sent some nitro cream to put on my nipples every 4 hrs. My husband was happy to help with that lol. The cream is to help with getting oxygen my nipples.
So feeling so good we decided to order pizza. I ate a piece and was so happy but was noticing my right eye felt like there was metal in it. I rinsed it out several times. It started getting so that I couldn’t even keep it open. I had to keep a cloth to wipe it because it was watering so bad. I thought I had got the cream for my nipples in my eye. I took my pain meds and my muscle relaxer and thought I would sleep and it would be better in the morning.
Wrong. I was up all night. My boobs were great, it was my dang eye. At 5:30 am I was ready to go to the ER or something. My eye was terrible. We called Dr. Hedden about 6 am. My appointment that morning with him was at 8 am and he said sometimes that happens and he could look at it if I could wait until 8. So I waited. We got there and he looked at my eye and said that wasn’t from the cream. He got his nurses to call and get me in to see an eye Dr. The nurse told me the eye Dr would be waiting when we left their office. I was so ready!
Dr. Hedden checked my breast after we got my eye situation seen about. They looked great. I was so happy looking at them. Made my follow up appointment and headed to the eye dr!!
Turns out I scratched my eye probably with my fingernail as I was sick throwing up and didn’t realize it. The way I scratched it there was a flap left that wouldn’t lay down. So every time I blinked my eye lid would rub it. Dr gave me antibiotic drops and put in a bandage contact. Instant relief!! I had to wear that 3 days.
So my breast surgery was not as bad as I thought. Just had to keep my pain meds in and I was good. Now for the recovery!!

Dr Hedden and everyone of his staff were amazing. They make you feel so comfortable and that helps you relax a lot. Words of advise: Take a heating pad!! I didn’t realize laying propped up would hurt my back so bad. Instant relief when it heated up. And cut your fingernails short haha. I’ll wear gloves when I have my Tummy Tuck hehe. Wishing you the best of everything on your upcoming surgery! So happy for you!!! :)

1 week to 4 weeks P.O. follow up appointment

Just4me44
I had surgery on Thursday and went back to work on Tuesday. I have a desk job so it wasn’t a problem. But the first day back was the first day I had been up all day. I was so tired at the end of the day. Sitting on the couch became a new favorite thing to do in the evenings.
My right side was still high and had sharp pains that I wasn’t having in the left. I googled and looked on RS for similar situations. By the end of my research I was scared and convinced myself I was at the beginning of having a hematoma. This was on Thursday so my 3rd day back to work (1 week P.O.). Dr. Hedden had gave me his cell number to call or text 24-7. I called my husband freaking out and he said just text the dr. I did. He immediately sent back and asks for pictures. I sent those. I had no bruising or bad swelling to resemble a hematoma. It was just much higher than the left. He said I could come in if I wanted to. I trusted his judgement and stayed at work. Ladies don’t google. Just read on RS. Goggle will tear you up on stuff like that. Lesson learned.
Other than that, 1 week went by so easy and quickly. Just typical pains and soreness. I feel better than I thought I would. I stopped all meds after 4 days. Haven’t even taken Tylenol. I got tired quickly but that is to be expected while healing. My 2nd and 3rd week was about the same. Had to remind myself not to do things. Not picking up my grand babies is the hardest. The 2 yo just wants me to hold him all the time. I will get someone to sit him in my lap and love on him. But he wants me up and walking lol.
I went yesterday (5/15) for my 4 week appointment. Was suppose to have went at 2 weeks but I couldn’t get back because we live a couple hours away. The Dr showed my how to start massaging to help them drop. My right side is still higher. But they both are no where near as high as they were. The nurse took the rest of the steri strips off. The glue was still there and they said that would fall off on its own. My incisions look great according to Dr Hedden. He was pleased and so was I. I can start Scarguard when the glue comes off. I am so ready to start that. I also can hold my grandbabies now. Happy Nana right here.
We talked about a Tummy Tuck while I was there. He pulled my stomach tight and showed me what results would look like. I haven’t had a flat tummy in 25 years. I had a c section with boys my kids so I have had that c section flap ever since I was 21. And then the weight loss just added to that. So I set up to have a TT for November 15. I am so excited to carry my journey further.
I will keep updates coming. Hope you all have a wonderful day!!
