Update
They are looking better, swelling has gone down, and they have both begun dropping. I think I’ll be quite please by the end of the 3 months. My next apt is in a week, I’ll be at the 6week mark [yay, half way there]! I am not having any issues, no opening or tearing, no infections or excessive swelling. Pain for the most part is gone, it just feels weird bending over and laying on my side. I def can not wait for that to feel normal. The only issue I am having though is “acne” on my chest. It’s so frustrating because I never had this issue, not even as a teenager doing sports, living in a sports bra!!!! I’m guessing it’s because of wearing compression bras and not being able to really scrub my chest yet. I’m praying next week I get the all clear to take full on baths and go swimming!!!!!! Fingers crossed!

Hi again, glad things are going well! I was told to not to completely submerge myself in water (i.e. swimming, Jacuzzi, etc) for my first two months postop. I’ve always preferred baths to showers. What I would do was fill the tub halfway and just kind of soak from the waist down. LOL. Btw, to share a little tip with you. If you respond to someone’s message in the “reply” link directly below their comment they will receive a notification that you responded to their comment. Hope this is helpful. Good luck with your upcoming appointment. :-)

I am feeling pretty good. I am still wearing the tegaderm. Healing is going well. Only complaints are that the left appears larger and the right nipple is larger. The left breast appearing larger may have something to do with the right still sitting high while the left has dropped. But I am happy. I still have almost 2 months before I would even consider really fretting about any asymmetrical appearance. My scars look great actually except for the lower pole incision of the left side. The scar is widening there, everywhere else look amazing.

Looking great! It looks like you’re healing very nicely. I think the Tagaderm is a great idea, especially given it’s strong water resistancy. I actually use Tagaderm films along the edge of my Embrace scar sheets to keep them more water resistant when swimming. Just curious will you be doing any kind of formal scar therapy? The scar in your lower pole could be widening now because due to dropping and fluffing. This happened to me my first surgery. My verticals got a very wide. I actually had a scar revision on mine. Following my revision I used Embrace Active Scar Defense (with the tension device). The tension device pushes the tape towards the center holding the incision together to prevent it from stretching as much. That aside I think the tagaderm is a great idea using early on. In a way it kind of serves as a preliminary scar therapy (imo). I hope you continue to heal well! :-)

Hi! I just started following. Everything is looking awesome! I'm scheduled for late April and I'm a little nervous but your pics make me feel better. Did you have the choice between silicone or saline? My PS does both and I'm leaning towards saline even though I know they don't feel as natural. I feel like they have every other benefit though. Have you noticed being able to feel the edge of the implant at all? I honestly don't think rippling through the skin would bother me but I don't know that I would like being able to feel the edges.

Mdlg5, im not sure about scar therapy yet. I have an appointment tomorrow. I did notice some discharge coming from a small opening (spitting stitch perhaps) in my left areola and removed the tegaderm. I decided to clean it and place a bandaid over it since it was just for a couple of days. I’m now assuming I won’t get the all clear to be submerged into water yet

Kayybug, hello! I was very nervous too. I have seen so many bad lift/implant surgeries on here. But I definitely feel like mine are looking awesome. I had all kinds of choices, gel, silicone, and saline. I went with saline for a couple of reasons. 1. I just prefer the general idea of the saline being absorbable. 2. I can customize the size (it’s filled in a certain range of cc after being placed unlike the other two options. 3. Also, if they were to rupture I’d know. With the other two, it’s hard to tell, and you are required to have a mri done every two years which insurance does not cover. No thanks lol. I don’t have any rippling at all. I can’t feel my implant unless I reallly push in and am in a certain position, so no. With saline you can go “softer or firmer”. For example, mine is a high profile 380 cc, but it’s filled to 420 (max fill is 450) to give a firmer feel and have less chance of rippling. If I stuck will then the 380 fill then they would had been softer. I personally like the way mine feel, not too soft nor rock hard. Also, your profile will play a role in visible rippling or being able to see and feel the implant. a high profile has a more narrow base, moderate and low profile have a wider base (large width that expands across the pocket).

Thank you so much for the reply! I somehow missed it earlier. So I've decided to go with saline too! For pretty much all of the same reasons. I'm starting out as a 34C so I'm hoping I have enough tissue to cover them. Is the tegaderm just protective tape or is it a scar tape? I'm doing a lift as well so I'm very interested in getting those scars to heal fast!
