Feeling good
So today marks Day 12 I think. Other than a few ‘zingers’ here and there I’m pretty much back to feeling normal. I’ve noticed some Mondor Cords under my left boob which sometimes pull and cause a little discomfort, so I’m giving them light massages whenever I remember.
I had my dressings changed at Day 9 and after getting rid of all the old dried blood I was pleasantly surprised at how the incisions looked. I’ve just got tape over the incisions now, I just have to lightly pat them dry after a shower.
The bruising on and around my boobs has been epic. Like nothing I’ve ever even seen on this website. It’s pretty gruesome and maybe when it’s completely cleared and I’m a little braver, l’ll post some pics. I didn’t take any pills or use any creams pre op because I NEVER normally bruise! I can crash and fall into the most pointy objects and feel robbed that I don’t have a bruise to show for all the pain I endured! So I thought I’d be home free coming into this BL/BA! Hahahahah. Not so. I even had a bit of blood/bruising pooling in my belly button and you can see the faint yellow trail of bruising leading down to it on my abdomen, and even as far as my pubic bone. It’s nearly gone now and looking sooo much better.
As far as the gym goes, I’m itching to get back. I’ve been walking and doing some really easy, slow, lower body movements to placate my burning desire to throw a barbell around. I even re-read my surgeons post op instructions to see if I could find a grey area or loop hole!! “Absolutely no heavy lifting for 6 weeks”. No such luck. Haha. *sigh*
I’m back to work this week. The 2 weeks off was a good amount of time to recover for me. My husband has also been at home to help with the boys which has been amazing.
I’ve told most of my CrossFit friends about my surgery, but kept it pretty tight with only a few work buddies. I’m sure they’ll eventually figure it out but I’m not ready to discuss it with the rest of them yet. Maybe they’ve already noticed or even been told by others (smallish town) but no one has said anything.
I’ll up load a pic of a bra I tried on pre op that now fits while the girls sit high, but I’m sure once they drop and fluff will probably not fit as well. It’s a 36DD. The lady in the bra store predicts I’ll be a 34DDD (12E) by the time everything has settled.

I love how thorough you are with your review! Thank you, it is really helpful. We are pretty similar and I plan on beginning my review soon. As far as working out goes, do you have a workout plan in place? I've been trying to plan a work out regimen so I can have something in place afterwards so no extra time is wasted. Just wondering what any fellow gym goers and lifters did or planned for this.
Hi there! It’s been really hard to resist the urge to do too much too soon. Before surgery I tried to get myself in the best shape I possibly could so the journey back to normal fitness didn’t seem so long. As soon as I felt well enough (I gave myself a week of complete rest) I began walking. Just a short distance, to a nearby park and back again, then increase the distance. I’m currently just doing a section of very slow, controlled lower body movements and stretches. All body weight- squats, lunges, leg raises, step ups. I had a goal post op to improve my air squat positioning which means I have to practise getting to full depth with a wide stance and gradually reduce it while maintaining good form. That is keeping me busy and has given me a goal and focus where I can see improvement. Still no cardio and definitely no weights. But lots of rolling and stretching instead. It’s two weeks until I see my PS again so hopefully I’ll get the all clear to do a bit more! Let me know if I can help any more.
Hey hun, how are you doing now?

Day 4
Each day I’m seeing more progress. I’m off all the pain meds now and just using Voltaren for the muscle tightness. I’m moving my arms quite a bit and almost have full range of motion. I found myself moving my arms around in my sleep last night which was a bit worrying but I think it’s my body’s way of loosening up! I’m sleeping in an elevated position with a neck pillow but this morning I woke pretty much horizontal again and quite comfortable. My husband has been sleeping in another bedroom just to be on the safe side as he didn’t want to be knocking or bumping me during the night.
I get tired around lunchtime and have a lie down for an hour or so. I’m trying to restrict what I lift to around 1kg and ask my husband to do the rest. I walked about 1km to the shops and back yesterday to grab a couple of pharmacy items and strawberries. It was so nice to get out into the fresh air. Something I’ve been aiming to do each day.
My boobs are super bruised around the nipples and down underneath. There’s dried blood under the dressing which makes them look yucky too. I have avoided showing until today, just using warm face washers to wash as it hasn’t been super hot here the past few days. They are sitting really high and pointed like torpedos with quite a large gap in between. My arms brush against them when I walk and my husband and girlfriend were joking about my ‘Invisible Lat Syndrome’ because I’m walking like big body builder who has enormous protruding lats!
I bought a post op bra and wore it for about an hour yesterday while walking, then for about 4 hours last night. It was quite firm and a little uncomfortable to begin with but once it had warmed and had stretched was much better. I’ll order another off eBay today. It was a 14DD (36DD). I’m sure I’ll measure bigger than that though eventually in a bigger bra, as another shop measured my bust as a G cup over my clothes and tubigrip I was wearing that day.
My mum is coming to visit for my birthday tomorrow and I haven’t told her about my boobs yet. I’ll wait and see if she notices and then maybe tell her. I’m kind of in denial that she won’t notice - I was hoping my boob job would just replace what I lost in size and volume pre pregnancy but I think in these initial stages it’ll be too obvious. I’m sure she won’t care, but I’m still a bit fearful of people’s judgement and would prefer to keep it private. I’ve told both my sisters and my husband told his mother yesterday - which I was a little upset about but he said she was very happy and supportive that I’d done it.
I’ll post some more pics in the next few days. I’m not quite ready to share my bruised Franken-boobies just yet!!

What size did you go with? Saline or Silicone? I’m sure she will notice, that’s exciting! Happy Healing ❤️

Day of treatment
Boobs!
Wow! What a whirlwind 24 hours!
Yesterday I was up early to catch the train to the hospital. Then after check-in I met with my PS ) who has just returned, fresh as a daisy, smelling of coffee and still sporting facial whiskers from a holiday in Costa Rica) to get marked up and prepped for surgery. We discussed size and appearance of my boobs, pros and cons of what I could and couldn’t achieve and I left the final call up to him. I felt totally at ease with our discussion and confident we’d get a good result.
By 945am I was ready to go. I was weirdly excited! I got wheeled into theatre after the anaesthetist popped an IV in my arm, felt a bit groggy then BAM! I woke up like a concrete slab was resting on my chest. I can remember my PS adjusting my bandage round my chest and saying ‘We got 500s in there’. I was like ‘yessss!’
Pain has been pretty bad on and off these past 18 hours or so. I probably waited too long before asking for more and didn’t realise until I’d had my additional meds how much pain I was actually in! It takes 1/2 hour or so to take effect so they were the worst times of pain. Lying in bed for long periods takes its toll too.
And don’t get me started on the no food policy!! I think a ravenously, empty stomach totally compounded the cabin fever situation by about 4pm yesterday! After having no food for 18 hours, I was seriously going to flip out! It was like torture! Everytime the nurses came in I asked them if I could eat, but they’d smile, look at the clock and say, ‘not just yet hon, we don’t want you getting sick after the anaesthesia’. Talk about over cautious! I’ve had my fair share of anaesthetics before and I was guzzling water and chowing down on food within an hour.
I ended up grabbing a Quest bar from my stash in my suitcase. It was so bloody hard to eat through, because all they’d given me was ice chips! Combine that with a dry mouth and the texture of my quest bar it was quite the oral workout! So after half a bar I gave up!
By 5 o’clock I was allowed some food and luckily I’d packed a cool bag with some chicken, salad and strawberries because my hospital dinner was less than appealing.
I’d packed a neck cushion which was amazing as lying at a 45 degree angle in bed doesn’t really support your head and neck. I woke up at about 3am and could feel the pain creeping in again so I asked for some more Endone and then slept until about 630.
Some more chicken and strawberries about 7am and my PS was knocking on the door on his morning rounds. He was really happy with my results so far. ‘No high 5s until the 3 month mark’ he said, because although everything looks really good now, the final reveal takes 3 months to unmask. Makes total sense to me! You can see from the ‘before’ pic I had a lot of loose skin and not a lot of body fat around my chest. I also have large pectoral muscles which can impact the final results. He said this can pose a few problems with the end result in regards to nipple placement and position of the implants as the pecs are quite strong. But from looking at them post op, he was thrilled with how they were looking. I love his up front honesty and how he doesn’t make promises about perfect results. Suffice to say, I’m very excited about what the next couple of weeks will bring!!!

As time has passed and I’ve added more and more pics they were eventually deleted to streamline my portfolio. I probably should’ve left them in just to show people what they can expect. And I may add them back at some point in a photo collage of some sort showing my entire journey. I hope you continue to do well. Happy healing!
