Scars 2 months PO

Hey guys. Just dropping by with some updated pics! I’m using Mederma during the day, and BioOil at night on my scars. Seems to be helping tremendously! If you’re scared of a breast lift, don’t be! You won’t regret this! I was so afraid of terrible scarring, the trade off was so worth it!

Big Update!

Hey guys! Haven’t posted in awhile so I figured I’d give y’all a nice long and lengthy update! I had a few bumps in the road day 9-11 post op. My sutures were removed at day 8 PO, no issues initially. I returned to work on day 9. I work in air medical, it can be super hot and sweaty work. I came home, I noticed some yellowish/clear drainage from the bottom of my right breast. Mind you, I hadn’t had ANY drainage since the day of surgery. There was a round reddish colored spot underneath my breast, I attributed it to the sports bra I wore to work causing some irritation along my suture lines, and maybe since it was so hot I was just chaffed. The area wasn’t hot to touch, I didn’t have any symptoms of fever. I washed with antibacterial soap, left a bra off and went to bed in just a tank top. About 4 am I woke up because I felt the entire right side of my tank top was soaked. My breast was profusely draining the yellow/clear (what looked like serous fluid) but this time it was getting thicker. Very red, hot site. The redness was very defined and deep in color. I called the surgeon that was on call, text her some pictures, she met me at the office on a Sunday!! Irrigated the site, placed a wick in it, I was already on Bactrim for a UTI so I was really shocked I was still getting an infection, she added Keflex 4 times a day x10 days. I had to come back in the next day to see my surgeon and if there was no signs of the infection showing improvement I may have had to go to the OR and have that implant removed. I was absolutely terrified. Thankfully within 6 hours after adding Keflex the redness decreased in diameter by 1/2. I saw my PS the next day, what happened was when she removed one of my sutures, one of the dissolvable ones popped a small tail out of the hole that the removable suture was in. Since I was at work and sweating, the hole was just big enough to allow bacteria into the skin and cause an infection. Needless to say that resolved and I still have my implants. Thank God! At my last appointment 4 weeks PO, she told me that the majority of my swelling had gone down and that I could go be fitted for a bra. Well... y’all are gonna be about as shocked as I was. 34G is what I measure. We tried on several several bras and it is for sure a 34G. I absolutely love them. If I could give any of you advice, don’t worry about a specific cup size, find the LOOK that you want. Trust your PS judgement! I told her that I wanted a full D/DD, that’s what I was hoping for, but I also showed her the look that I wanted. I expressed that I didn’t want a wide gap between my breasts, I want them to look proportionate to my body with a lot of upper pole fullness and cleavage. She picked what fit my body. 525cc’s is what looked best to her. Although I did end up in a G cup, I’m so so so happy. I got the look I was going for! Don’t be afraid of the size, let them try them on you in the OR and figure out what fits you best if you have a look in mind. I sat here and stressed over this stuff for a month waiting for surgery. Did I plan on a G cup? Heck no! That sounded huge to me. Why the heck would I want to do that to myself? The thing is, they don’t feel too big at all, they aren’t in my way, I have a highly physical job and it doesn’t effect that at all. My back doesn’t hurt, I don’t get chafing, my clothes fit me great! I’m still wearing a medium shirt, exactly like I did before surgery, and some smalls. It’s awesome! Check out my updated pics! I hope this helps someone!

Post OP Day 6.

Day 2-4 was the absolute worst for swelling and pain. It was manageable with Flexeril and Lortab but taking both of those meds I sure slept a lot. My left implant is still sitting a touch higher than the right with a greater amount of swelling. As far as sensation goes, I have complete sensation back in both breasts, nipples included. I would say that my nipples are even more sensitive than they were before surgery, which she said could happen since I had such a volume loss, that sometimes with the implant your nerves wake back up. I’m so thankful they did! I’ve had more back pain in my lats area and under arms than my actual chest after post op day 2. From what I’ve read that’s pretty common due to postural changes and guarding your chest. I’m trying to do better about sitting up straight but it is soooo hard when you feel that tugging on your chest and back! I got to take my bandages off my incision site 48 hours post, steri-strips are still in place. So far so good though! They are a lot bigger than I had anticipated but I’m very happy.

I cannot dote on this woman enough! Dr. Quigley is top notch. Her bedside manner is wonderful and she does absolutely beautiful work! I’ve never had any issues getting ahold of her, seeing her in her office if I had a problem. She’s very much on top of things and I cannot speak highly enough about her. Wonderful, amazing, extremely talented surgeon. Coming from a healthcare provider myself, speaks volumes. I would recommend her to anyone, without worry, 100%.
