Breast Lift with Implants 36B, Hoping for 36D/DD

Hey girls! I’m a 35 yo mother of 5. Since high school I wore a full 36D/DD cup. After the birth of my youngest daughter who is now 9, I don’t really have an explanation to what happened to my breasts! They just kinda....slowly disappeared! Immediately after her birth I was in a 36E cup, and eventually returned to a DD. Over the course of 3 years post birth, I went from a DD, to a D, to a C in VS, and now am a very deflated 36B. A few stats about me. I’m 5’5”, 144 lbs. BWD 14.1. Sternal notch to nipple measurements are 27cm bilaterally. Symmetrically saggy. :( I went to three consultations with plastic surgeons in my area and finally found the perfect surgeon for me! I was not very excited about needing a lift. I assumed that just an implant could fill the volume that I lost and make me full and perky again. Thanks to a lot of your personal stories, I opted to not try to find a surgeon that would bypass a lift, I feel like I will have better results in the long term if I go ahead and get a lift! At my initial consultation I tried on 450cc moderate plus profile sizers. My PS recommended 475, 500, and 525cc’s. After looking through several pics on here, I called my PS back and asked about high profile silicone. I feel like overall that is the look that I’m going for. Full, round, full upper pole. Based on my BWD, my PS recommends a 550 or 600cc HP implant. She will be bringing both Mod Plus and HP on the day of surgery. If she feels that the HP implant would not be proportionate to my frame, she will use Mod Plus. I’m hoping for a Full D/DD post op. Surgery is scheduled for May 22nd at 11:15 am. I’m so ready to have my perky breasts back and fill out my clothes again! I look forward to sharing my experiences with you all, and I’m hoping that my story will help someone else the way yours have helped me! :)

I cannot dote on this woman enough! Dr. Quigley is top notch. Her bedside manner is wonderful and she does absolutely beautiful work! I’ve never had any issues getting ahold of her, seeing her in her office if I had a problem. She’s very much on top of things and I cannot speak highly enough about her. Wonderful, amazing, extremely talented surgeon. Coming from a healthcare provider myself, speaks volumes. I would recommend her to anyone, without worry, 100%.

This is super helpful! You look amazing!! I am trying to figure out size. I was worried 500 would be too big but I know they go down a lot after surgery.

Surgery Day/Post Op Day 1!

rrt1983
The new girls are here! Surgery was scheduled on 5/22 for 11:15 am. I arrived to the surgery center at 9:45 yesterday morning, checked in and had pre-op labs drawn. Everything went really smooth! The surgery center staff was AMAZING! In pre-op they weighed me, took vital signs, asked a few questions about past medical history. After that, changed into my fancy gown, socks and surgical cap. I met with the anesthesiologist and CRNA. The pre-op nurse put SCD boots on and started getting me nice and warm with the bear hugger and placed an IV. Dr. Quigley came shortly after that and met with me, measured and marked. I had spoke with her 2 weeks prior to surgery because I was very conflicted about the Moderate Plus vs High Profile implants. I was concerned about upper pole fullness and not having enough projection since my breasts were so deflated. She felt that I would have enough of my own natural tissues to create a significant amount of projection, and due to my BWD width she felt that the Moderate Plus profile would better suit me. Let me just say that I cannot boast on Dr. Quigley enough. She’s amazing at what she does and is so very sweet! After she marked me I returned to pre-op waiting and before I knew it my CRNA was at bedside to start the anesthesia process and wheel me back to the OR. I was given 2 mg of IV Versed. I barely remember even making it into the OR. I remember seeing the lights overhead as we rolled in but nothing else, not even the move over to the operating table. I woke up in recovery around 2.5 hours later with my new girls! I was very sore at first with a lot of pressure and extremely nauseous. My PACU nurse had already given me Phenergan to help with the nausea, and at the time I was in a lot of pain. She ended up giving me more pain medication which helped tremendously too! My PACU nurse explained that Dr. Q started with 475cc Mod+ implants, then sized me with the 500’s, she decided the 525cc’s looked best so that is what I have! 525cc, round, smooth, moderate plus profile girls! :) After the PACU nurse explained everything, I used the restroom and she was so kind and helped me get dressed. She had me drink some coke to make sure I could swallow ok and asked me if I felt like my pain was managed enough and if I felt like I was ok to go home but that was up to me if I wasn’t ready yet I didn’t have to leave. She got my boyfriend and gave him post op instructions and my prescriptions. Dr. Q prescribed Lortab for pain, Phenergan for nausea and to help sleep if needed as well as Flexeril for muscle spasms. Since I’ve been home there hasn’t been a ton of pain. The Flexeril works amazing for the chest pressure, I’ve only had to take 3 Lortabs in the last 12 hours. I was very nauseous when I got home and did vomit twice from the anesthesia. Overall everything is going great! I go for a follow up appt next Thursday to get my sutures removed!

Post OP Day 6.

rrt1983
Day 2-4 was the absolute worst for swelling and pain. It was manageable with Flexeril and Lortab but taking both of those meds I sure slept a lot. My left implant is still sitting a touch higher than the right with a greater amount of swelling. As far as sensation goes, I have complete sensation back in both breasts, nipples included. I would say that my nipples are even more sensitive than they were before surgery, which she said could happen since I had such a volume loss, that sometimes with the implant your nerves wake back up. I’m so thankful they did! I’ve had more back pain in my lats area and under arms than my actual chest after post op day 2. From what I’ve read that’s pretty common due to postural changes and guarding your chest. I’m trying to do better about sitting up straight but it is soooo hard when you feel that tugging on your chest and back! I got to take my bandages off my incision site 48 hours post, steri-strips are still in place. So far so good though! They are a lot bigger than I had anticipated but I’m very happy.
