Surgery didn't deliver what was intended

ORIGINAL POST

Not Worth It

A.NOVA
I chose dr Schwartz for my bilateral implant removal and double mastopexy based on his credentials and pre-op bedside manners: unusually sweet and kind.I was reassured by dr Schwartz on each appointment and also minutes before going into the OR while he was marking me that his mastopexy will leave no fold/ptosis whatsoever in exchange for the new vertical scars.Fair .At my post-op visits when I pointed out that there STILL is a fold under both breasts he said not to worry and focus on healing, that he can always excise more skin once I'm healed. At the 6 month post-op dr Schwartz agreed to schedule a revision and correct the ptosis that wasn't corrected by the primary mastopexy. His patient coordinator Nicole emailed me 2 weeks later after my repeated calls and emails a quote for the revision surgery. Not only dr Schwartz never mentioned that there is a charge for the revision of his mastopexy but the quote was almost the full price he charged for the primary bilateral breast implant removal and mastopexy - minus a 10% discount as a "returning patient"!? So am I supposed to pay twice for the revision of a surgery that didn't deliver what was intended to ?

The nerves of that doctor. So sorry you're going thru this. Best wishes

Appreciating the sympathy! It wasn't easy to put myself out here. I'm hoping my case will help someone in the decision making process and save someone from avoidable trauma.

You're welcomed. I feel your pain. I had a revision surgery in April due to capular capsule from a 10 year breast augmentation. It happened after i had my now 5 years old daughter. So in April i had a revision w/lift and implants exchange. The doctor was supposed to do an enbloc & fix my right breast pocket. 6 weeks later i had to do another surgery for the same side breast due to capular capsule. I'm glad the doctor admitted that something was wrong & told me to go to surgery the next day to fix the issue. No charge. So it's been almost 3 weeks with the right side & so far it's ok. I'm praying that it stays good.

How is the healing for that? I am doing an implant exchange and capsule removal and lift in September. Nervous about the healing process!

The healing isn't bad at all. Very little pain. Thank goodness. It's just starting the healing process all over. I'm just ready to sleep on my side again. I have the pregnancy pillow which gives me support & it won't allow me to sleep on my side. There's been times i slipped & caught myself before i got that pillow.

For a lift without an implant, I think they look good. Sorry you're unhappy. Look at your previous signed contract and see if it states anything about his revision policy? Most PS waive their fees and usually have to charge for OR fees and anesthesiologist. Good luck and keep us updated.
