Breast Lift After Implant Removal

ORIGINAL POST

Breast lift after explant

Sunshyne0714
WORTH IT$7,100
I had my breast implants removed 6 months ago, and while my skin did retract remarkably I still have too much skin for my size and some significant asymmetry . I researched Real self stories and reviews, healthgrades, vitals and sought multiple consults for this procedure. Dr. Clavijo-Alvarez assessment of what to do and how to do it were laid out to me very thoughtfully, technically and my input was heard. He has spent two visits with me - a total of 2.5 hours answering questions and explaining the whole procedure. I have the highest level of confidence in him as my doctor. I wish I had found him sooner.

Be sure to see before and afters of his procedures too. I know you did that already but I must say that this is very important too!! Best of luck explant BFF!!

Thank you! It's official, and I've got the countdown app back on my phone. I think the hardest part will be the first few weeks of no gym time.

Tell me about it, Monday will be my 6th weekaversary :P and I still can't lift anything without my left breast feeling weird. I need to cycle at least!
March 29, 2017
Oh no! Are you cleared for low impact yet? Cycling? Walking? When? I'm feeling you. Being restricted stinks for hyper girls. When's your next follow up appointment?

Just a quick hello to check on you. I'm cycling and using the rowing machine! :)

Mcnulty45 that's great news. How are you liking rowing? I've tried it in the gym. It seems easy at first but after ten minutes it's awful. I'm good! Ready to finish my journey with plastic surgeons on Friday. Excited but I have a lot to do first! We are moving and I have to paint before surgery. It's not happening after. That's for sure. I'll be needing copious amounts of caffeine for the next 48 hours! Send me some good thoughts sister!

Dude! I send you all of them!! You'll be a tiny wee boob goddess, even more than now! :)
You are a strong lady, you can do this!!
I like the rowing, but I only managed like 4 minutes at the time, and I need to stretch my neck before and after. Good luck on friday!!!

Day of treatment

Oit of surgery!

Everything went so well today. I feel like I was in the best hands. The surgery center staff was great. 3.5 hour surgery and doc said everything went well. I'm having some waffles and snuggling back up in bed. No peeking until next Thursday!

I'm really happy for you that everything went well, I hope you have a great recovery and result. I had my implants removed and a lift the day before you, feeling sore but happy! :) x

Congratulations on your explant! Woop! Woop! Welcome to explant island. It's a lovely place! Thanks for your note.

I just talked to my Dr. I had almost 100gr reduced from my left side - and apparent the blood flow to one of my nipples was skeptical. He idea special suturing technique so he thinks it will be OK. That's why I decided to do two surgeries as my last PS mentioned that was a consideration for me since my implants were over the muscle. I haven't had any pain yet as I recall the nurse saying he put numbing meds in me.

Isn't explanting a serious load off? It was equal parts emotional and physical relief for me. Remember to be patient while you heal. Our bodies are so resilient but they aren't always as fast as we would like. Do you have drains?

Thanks! Its definitely a lovely place to be!!

My surgeon also said that my left nipple was a bit of a worry for a bit but it came through. I'm not sure I really wanted to hear that as my biggest worry was necrosis of the nipple but hey, we made it didn't we.

I had drains in whilst I was in the hospital but they took them out before I left. What about you?

Take it easy, all the best :) x

I have one drain on the side he made smaller and it's grossing me out. Blehhhhh. Glad you slept okay last night. I had to get up and walk around a few times. I just felt like my circulation wasn't what it should be. All week today, but I'm staying down except to eat or potty. I had a decent about of swelling after my explant. I remember that tight feeling too. Ice packs helped that tremendously. I think I used a bag of frozen snow peas - for a week. Funny right? Stay well! We should all find some online games to play from bed. What's the scrabble game? Words with friends lol

How are you feeling today? I am feeling pain free. So glad surgery is over for us both. I hope you getting plenty of rest
May 6, 2017
I'm okay but for the horrendous belly ache from the antibiotic. So glad you're pain free! That's incredible. Do you have these gross drains? I have one.

Do you feel like you can jump and touch the sky? :)

Oh sorry about your belly ache.. are you on the cefadroxil? That's the antibiotic I got, it's a little strong for me but I guess I have to take it. No drains for me, I am kinda glad because I didn't want them. You have far more work done so it's probably a good thing you got the drain, even though cumbersome. I feel so loved light and free. I can't believe how heavy the implants felt. I will be nervous to see them next week. Do you have to be wrapped as well?
May 6, 2017
Yep. He called me in a replacement antibiotic. I can't tolerate that one. Yes I'm wrapped in an ace bandage too I peeked earlier when I was doing my sponge bath. My areolas are so tiny and high! I didn't take anything off I just looked down. I'm excited but nervous about necrosis on the one side. He said it should be okay but that's a scary thing to wait and see on.

Don't peek until next week! What day is your follow up? What does your husband think? I bet he will live the new look too! I'm excited for you but remember don't judge first look OK?
May 7, 2017
I am so excited for you! And me, lol, I can't wait to see how you look and feel. Congrats. Your an inspiration to me.

First look

Sunshyne0714
So I was having some drain issues and went in to see the Dr. Today. He removed the drain and I got to see the girls

I almost wanted to cry! Even though we had a nipple circulation scare they look way better than I would have imagined. They're so tiny and high. I went in such a saggy uneven mess - and bus reconstruction work is unreal. I'm thrilled and can't wait to heal in the coming weeks /months. I'm a happy girl! I can't wait to shower!!

I'll post pics later in the week!
