Autologous Internal Bra Mastopexy
WORTH IT
I’m based in the UK and spent a long time researching surgeons before deciding on my mastopexy. Almost every consultation I had in the UK pushed me toward silicone implants, which I was never comfortable with. I wanted a lift, not implants, and I didn’t like the idea of introducing foreign material into my body if there were other options.
Most surgeons also recommended the lollipop incision. While I understand why it’s commonly used, my main concern was long-term breast ptosis and whether the lift would truly hold over time.
I kept researching and eventually came across the internal bra technique. Many surgeons who perform it rely on synthetic mesh, but that raised another red flag for me—mesh can have its own complications and is extremely difficult to remove if something goes wrong. That pushed me to look deeper.
The idea of an internal bra using my own autologous tissue made far more sense to me. I’m very aware that each surgeon adapts techniques differently, so I became very selective. I wasn’t just looking for good early results—I wanted a surgeon with consistent outcomes and long-term results.
That’s how I found Dr Mahmoud Awara in Egypt.
At first, I was hesitant about traveling abroad for surgery. But after multiple consultations with Dr Awara, he explained his technique in detail, addressed every concern honestly, and never rushed or oversold anything. That gave me the confidence to book and travel to Cairo.
The level of professionalism from Dr Awara and his entire team genuinely exceeded my expectations—especially considering I’m used to NHS standards in the UK. Everything was well-organized, safe, and handled with care and respect.
What really sets Dr Awara apart is his aftercare. He gave me his personal WhatsApp number, responds promptly to any questions, and actively follows up on my progress. That level of accessibility and accountability is rare.
I stayed in Cairo for two weeks post-op and was only cleared to fly once he was fully satisfied with my recovery.
I’m sharing my results from on the operating table through to 10 days post-surgery, and I plan to keep updating my photos as healing progresses. So far, I’m extremely happy with my decision and would highly recommend Dr Mahmoud Awara to anyone considering an internal bra mastopexy using their own tissue—especially if you’re trying to avoid implants or mesh.
